Well, I was going to add a few things into the saga mod, like a 'go-fetch' objective set up, but, yeah, I'll want to make a map so I can work out gameplay mechanics and stuff.

 

Certainly, I'd love to have your help to work on this, sorry about not getting your saga map up and running, now it works faboo though.

WOW! The map (Anchorhead) looks great! and the Saga mode seems like a lot of fun!

 

Does anyone know any servers using it which have many enough people on it? I just reconfigured mine to use Saga, but I also just told the regulars about the mod and the map, so it'll take at least a few days before people start coming :D

 

Is the map and mod on any of the big sites yet? Or should I just tell them to get it via your ftp or http listed here?

 

Hope there come some more maps soon though, just for variation (I can wait a few weeks, since Anchorhead is a lot of fun exploring, but having a mod with only one map playable won't hold for a long time.... especially when the regulars love switching maps a lot, lol)

Yes, new maps need to be added, but the gameplay needs a weedin through. I can try to both, but neither one would turn out as awesome as I'd like, so I'm going to focus on building a stable mod with gameplay features like other mission-based objectives, then we'll go from there.

 

Ok, monsoontide, I have the "N/A" problem fixed, now it says Saga, but it seems like it should say ... more ... ?

 

Should it even be called Saga?

i must say, that was great, i downloaded it and it is fun, i can only find half of the items but thats what makes it fun, and then everytime i turn around there seems to be another room and its wonderful 100% fun, (but its a wee bit laggy on my system) cool, first on 5th page

i'd say try to stick with the basic idea looming with the saga maps, which is the ideas of cities. I'd say the coolest idea would be to make a Nar Shadda type city...Lots of actions, check out the ns_streets textures, no trees...and brushes i cant help you.

Lol, I know I know - I'm trying to do something that is very very hard, to step out of what we can do and do something new.

 

I have already done a lot of researching and testing, and I can do a forest-y level if I keep a level head about it. That is, gone is the idea of not using any areaportals at all, in fact, in a largely outdoor area, that would be very immpossible, So I'm using a distance-cull effect to keep framerates sane, and a fog to cover it up. I've looked at it, it'll let me keep the level large while fighing crime at the same time.

 

I think fog and distance cull should be used more often, it dulls the bright, unreallistic look of a map. I'm not going to start a thread for it or post pics for it until I have something to show ;)

 

It'll be saga, only saga, it'll be released with what I have so far for saga gameplay, hopefully include some UI fixes so we can see what objectives have been finished, and we'll go from there. It'll be a long, long journey.

 

Also, I've noticed with Episode 2's release, that the word Saga is getting used a lot.

Hey, I'd love seeing the Jabba-map having support for Saga, the map already exists (think it was made by livingdeadjedi) and only needs the objectives and points for them :)

 

Does anyome know the guy who made that map and could ask him to extend it to the Saga-universe?

 

I'm looking forward to more maps in Saga, anyone know if more will come soon? Like for example yours Wudan? ???

Because of recent awesome maps I have scrapped my map that wasn't based on anything and have been working for the last week r two making textures and testing map features. I don't think my map will be as huge as anchorhead, but it should be more player friendly, and include lotsa features that'll ...

 

Well, I better shush now, but I've got plans ...

Anyway, yeah, more saga maps needed. I'm trying to get in on the AOTC : Team Assault Collaboration, but I'm also trying to make my own Saga Map.

 

Hmmm...

 

Anyway, I haven't ripped in to the code for about a week because texturing takes so damn long (because I suck at it :( )
