Kengo Posted September 25, 2002 Share Posted September 25, 2002 It's just a casual development at the moment, not really serious yet. It's in the early phases. It'll probabaly start out as a MP map, I guess FFA, TFFA and Duel. I guess a castle could go well for a SAGA map but frankly I don't like the look of all that programming language involved. A CTF with one team 'under siege' in the castle, the attacking team having to be wary of 'sortees' by the castle defenders to capture their flag...well, I don't see that working, as the castle team always has a massive advantage of terrain. I was thinking after doing the castle for MP, I could add a village outside the castle, put together a plot, and have Kyle walking around in the village to try to find a way into the castle in full SP shinyness. I have some early pics up here.... http://www.geocities.com/kengomaps/WIP.html As I say it needs a lot of work, and as you can see there is a lot of room in the middle for a few buildings, modern day historians tell us after all that the middle was packed full of buildings, probabaly. Any suggestions very welcome, particulalry at this early stage. Also, I learnt with my last map that you have to give allow a lot of time to getting voice actos, so I'm looking for them now, before the SP map building has even begun, because getting voice actors and getting them to do their lines seems to take longer than building a fully fledged SP map...anyway, if you're interested in voice acting please go here for further details: http://www.geocities.com/kengomaps/voice_actors.html And there will be a lot of new characters going up there as I decide on the plot for the Medieval style SP level, so absolutely any voice might be right, just send me voices you can do and I'll think long and hard. Shadriss Posted September 26, 2002 Share Posted September 26, 2002 Looks like a good start, Kengo. I assume (and I use that word delilberately) that a Throne Room or Great Hall will be included? One of those two roomwas ALWAYS the "centerpiece" and reason for one of these buildings. Also, ,they always had a well, ,or artesian spring, or some other method of water gathering inside the walls, , in event of siege. Just a couple ideas for ya. GL. So far its a barracks, HQ, armoury/blacksmiths, couple of store rooms..... Also, anyone wana beta test this map when it's at that stage in...probably a week or so, maybe a bit more/less?
