Spinalcraft
I need some help when it comes to the yellow stance.. I currently use the red and blue stance now (I'm mostly defensive, closing in to the enemy then finding when he's open, then i swing a red.. if he's especially vulnerable, i use blue lunge to knock the crap outta him) and im clueless on where to fit that in my current playing style (see above) anyone have any tips for me? should I change my playing style? where could I fit yellow in my strat and how should I use it? thanks p.s: btw I use 1.04.. Darth Kaan
This is just MY opinion; 1. Yellow only breaks defences on Blue stance users, rarely on other Yellow stancers and never on Red. Practice moving away and back into opponents using the spinning and strafing moves (just like with Red) making clean solid contact. 2. The strength of yellow is it's finishing move. forward+jump+attack. Since your a defensive player, this move may be one you master quickly. When your opponent rushes you, line him up in your crosshair and jump over his incoming attack with the finisher. If you connect, they will die more times than not. Be sure to rotate at the end of the move so to be facing the opponent, that way if you miss with the special, they may kill themself on the tip of your saber if they counter to soon. Hope this helps. C'jais
Well, for a start you should never "back into" someone - having your back to the enemy is never wise. Never attack directly head-on or you'll get swiped the way Kaan described with the finisher. Speaking of the finisher, I'll grant it it's powerful, but if your opponent if quick enough to impale your sorry a$$ while you're a sitting duck, I wouldn't rely on it. If you find yourself gettin more lunges in return than you hitting him, then stop using the move. Against red and yellow players, it's about timing your attacks with theirs, move into attack as soon as their saber is away from their body or when they have their back turned against you. Also, try crouching when up close, it may catch them off-guard and their usual sideways sweep-swings can't hit you - meanwhile you employ the very same sideways swing and hit them in the legs for around 60 damage usually. Just a general tip: If you see your enemy do the infamous "riverdance" (stepdancing on the spot to avoid you seeing his stance), it's likely that he'll lunge you when you come within range of him. To avoid getting mauled that easily, *never* attack his front directly, try getting behind him and use yellow's speed and length to hit him if he does indeed do a lunge (that hopefully doesn't hit you). Avoid doing the spinning moves until you feel you're ready - no matter how cool they look, they can only hit your enemy once, and they take ages to perform. Instead, rely on a mixture of sideways sweeps and top down hacks. The swing where you back away and swing diagonally from bottom to top has a very, very low range. Against blue users, try staying out of their pathetic range. Distance is key here. Slash them from the side, while breaking their defenses, but never underestimate how hurtful a spinning blue blender can be, if he gets within range. Against red, it's a bit tricky and a fight can take ages if neither of you get impatient. The key is, if your enemy does a slash from right to left, immediately after he has started his swing, go for that vulnerable right. And try to avoid attacking until he's finished with his 3-swing combo. Usually he'll jump or roll away right after that, and it's here you'll have to decide whether you'll want wait him out, or start attacking in the middle of his combo. These are just some general tips, they may sound hard to do (and some of them are) but I hope it helps a little on your yellow uzing.
griff38
The 3 stances are like rock, paper scissors. Each has an advantage over the other and a disadvantage. But remember there are a whole range of variables that can change the outcome. The best thing you could do, is practice with each to see which works best for you. Jahs
I dont know if it's been explained above (Im quite lazy) but the trick with classic stance is to aim for your opponents saber, not his body. If you succed, he will be open for attack.
thehomicidalegg
if your style is to be defensive and wait for counter attack, then you should use red to defend and when you notice a hole opening up switch to yellow and use its speed to quickly take advantage of it. In the beginning just think of yellow as a stronger version of blue until you master it when you can intergrate it with all the other stances. hansmoleman
Another thing about the finising moce, dont use it 2 often. Many people use it 1 too many times so all i do is aproach them and then back away after they have started 2 execute the move then i move 2 the side where they r open and lunge at then. A helpful tip, wen chasing after some1 with his back 2 u NEVER swing with red ity will slow u down i usually switch 2 the never ending blue hacking.
