Reb Starblazer
This is a thread for the television show Twenty Four, and it's new season just happens to premiere tonight. I personally found this to be the best thing on TV last year, and can't wait for it to premiere tonight. Here's some information on the premiere taken from the Entertainment Weekly website. Read it at your own risk, it has spoilers for this season, as well as some for last season, if you haven't seen it yet. In case you were off the clock last year, allow us to fast-forward through ''24'''s first season: Bauer, a top agent at the government's Counter-Terrorist Unit, was summoned to stop an assassination attempt on leading presidential candidate Sen. David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) by sinister Serbs -- who, in turn, kidnapped Bauer's wife and daughter. While Jack ultimately foiled the plot, revealed ex-girlfriend Nina as the agency's mole, and saved his daughter from her captors' clutches, ''24'''s season finale was far from a happy ending, as a frantic Bauer discovered his pregnant wife, Teri, had been shot dead (by Nina) in the melee's final minutes. So forgive the man if he's a mite cranky as season 2 begins, 16 months later at precisely 8 a.m. A bedraggled and devastated Bauer, sporting a bushy beard of despair, is on voluntary leave from CTU. Daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) is working as a nanny (her charge's father is an abusive psycho, natch) and finds it too painful to talk to Jack. Senator Palmer is now President Palmer, and when he gets word that terrorists are planning to detonate a nuclear bomb somewhere in Los Angeles that day, he thinks Bauer -- the man who saved his life -- is the only one who can stop the attack. His executive order to Jack: Get back to work, and have a nice day. ''Jack doesn't really care anymore,'' says Sutherland. ''Whatever boundaries he had last year are pretty much gone now. Last year's promo was great: 'I'm federal agent Jack Bauer, and today is the longest day of my life.' Now maybe it's 'I'm federal agent Jack Bauer, and today is the most violent day of my life.''' Boba Rhett
Short, stupid replies. I'll definitely be watching it. I didn't catch all theepisodes last season but I still thought it was good. That one phone ringing commercial has been grinding my nerves for the past two months though.
Toonces
Oh man, I LOVED 24 last year It had one or two episodes in the middle that kinda dragged, and that whole amnesia thing was rediclious, but talk about suspence!
Darklighter
I only caught a few episodes actually...problem I had with it was that I found it too slow paced (which, ironically, was the idea of it lol)...if it ever came back on again I would check it out. I always saw it as one of those shows that you have to watch every episode to understand the progression of the story. I'll check it out.
Guest Jed
I missed the ending episodes, but I'm gonna pick up and watch this season. I too agree with you Reb, I think that was one of the best shows on TV last season. Besides from the Simpsons

Reb Starblazer
Actually, that's just as incoherent as all your other posts in this thread... just because you're now praising it doesn't make it any more intelligible. You can criticize it all you like, but please, do it a different manner. Explain why you didn't like it, instead of such responses. Toonces, as for the amnesia bit, they mention it in that link I posted. They talk about how it turned out worse than they though. They wanted Teri to not be on for a few episodes, have her actually sleep for once, but they executives wouldn't let them. They figured that hey, people have gone through stuff half as traumatic as this, and have had amnesia, maybe this could work... They're still regretting making that choice:) All in all, I thought it wasn't too bad though. I'm quite glad they decided to keep the "real-time" format of the show, as that was part of what made it so different, and original. And yes Darklighter, it is one of those shows where you really can't miss a whole bunch of episodes and then expect to come back and understand everything. You can maybe miss one everyonce in a while, but a few in a row will throw you for a loop. You'd be surprised what they can put in a one hour episode:D
