Master_Payne Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 Now that is "legal" to edit the model, could someone just re-weight him to have a helmet version that works correctly, it may use the same skin, it will only need a skin map for the helmet. I,m not a modeler and I just want to know if it's possible...
El Sitherino Posted December 5, 2002 Author Posted December 5, 2002 i edited this from a mando model that i ask permission to edit the model already came with a helmet so the whole helmet thing is pointless. thank you that is all bye
Matt-Liell Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 just so u know insanesith i sent the file to Ducan (is it the one who made the subulba model? I HOPE SO CAUSE THATS WHO GOT IT!) anyway i havent heard back but i thought id let u know!
Duncan_10158 Posted December 7, 2002 Posted December 7, 2002 I was offline (or offworld?) the last few days, so i am geting the model from Matt-Liell Arroblade at the moment. i probably will get on the work tomorrow. i had not jet the chance to take a look at it, but i am very curios.
Duncan_10158 Posted December 7, 2002 Posted December 7, 2002 I took a look at the jango model you sent me, Matt-Liell Arroblade and i see a problem. the skinmaps(UVW) are not done yet. i mean there are skinmaps but they are not done like they should be for making a proper skin. a lot of faces lie across another make it the same skin. the other thing are usage of skins. you are using one skin for every body part, instad of using one skin for several body parts. this makes the the hole file larger then is have to be. I can put the model in game as it is now, nut the problems above cant be changed anymore. on the other hand, if you redo the skinmaps you have to redo all the skins, but you could spare skins using same skin for several body parts. the question is: do you think we should redo the skinmaps?
El Sitherino Posted December 8, 2002 Author Posted December 8, 2002 hi guys sorry ive been gone for a while ive been busy with school and girls.... anyways im not sure what we should do if you want we can get it in game now and you can send it to me and we can see what we should do we could maybe cut it in parts like release the skin seperately maybe i dont know like ive said before this is my first time going through this kinda thing but whatever yall decide would be ok with me.
Matt-Liell Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 get it ingame is what i suggest, couple questions though, can we use any of the skins i made? would i have to redo it totally? get it in game for now anyways!
El Sitherino Posted December 8, 2002 Author Posted December 8, 2002 yeah duncan go ahead and put it in game so we can atleast test it out and ill see if i can get the size down. if not we can go back to the drawing board. but we'll atleast have it or we could put it up for broadbanders or whatever i dont know.
Duncan_10158 Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 ok, can bring the jango model in game like it is now. but to make it clear, then you cant changed the skinmap anymore. it would need a new compilaton with assimilate. Matt-Liell Arroblade, the skin you made is the best you could bring on the skinmaps. i can hardly belive that it is even posible. it must have been a hell of a work! but if we decide to redo the skinmaps then the skins have to be redone too. doing the skinmaps for this complicated model is a fulltimejob for about a week, and not very funny. i could do it but i have some other things in my to-do queue. and the the skinning again. this helmetless jango is a very good model, realy worth to bring it out. the problem is you made the skins befor the skinmaps are finished what normaly is imposible, but you somehow made it. i gone make it as it is now, but to be honest, you will see, its far from what i would call finished.
El Sitherino Posted December 8, 2002 Author Posted December 8, 2002 alright so whats this mean duncan?(oh what yall think of the new avatar).anyways thanks again guys for helpin me with this.
Matt-Liell Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 i have no problem with redoing the skins just curious! go ahead and put it in game and ill see what i can do after that!
Hellfire Jedi Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 Make sure the saber is held right!!! Also guys u could release a non-correct skinmap version thingy then later on release a redone skinmap thingy Hellfire
Duncan_10158 Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 after a lot of work i finaly brought the jango model in game, but some parts are missing. head, hips, torso, arms and legs are invisible, just missing. in Modview they are there like they should be. i have no idea whats wrong. the model_default.skin file is correct, there is no .surf file wich could make it invisible. the skins are also in the correct format. i have no idea. does somebody know this problem?
Hellfire Jedi Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 ibelive i know whas wrong.... That normally happens to me when a skin is messsed up. Helfire
El Sitherino Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 alright so exactly how do you make a surf file again cuz i knew once but my memory kind of fails me on this.(but what do yall think of my avatar)
Matt-Liell Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 no comment on avatar, find it weird! (well theres a comment, no offence of course!) and just edit an existing .surf with notepad!
El Sitherino Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 yeah my avatars kind of a inside joke. well like what do i put in the surf file cuz i dont know the surface names?
El Sitherino Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 dont know it was mentioned that it might solve the problem but whatever.
