DashRendar
Anyone know a site that has some good Midis to use in our Profiles?
Tie Guy
http://www.squaresound.com/index.html A lot of Final Fantasy midis as well as some very good piano editions. Other than that, just search.
DashRendar
http://underworld.fortunecity.com/mdk/33/midi/starwars.htm That's a nice site for extremely small Star Wars Midis...which is probably exactly what we'll need.
DashRendar
Now if that ain't spam if I've ever seen it... Anyone know if there'll be a limit to the size of the Midi?
Tie Guy
I'd imagine not. You'd be hard pressed to find a midi over 250K or so. Size shouldn't be a problem, especially since this is just people's profiles, not every post.
darthfergie
is there a program that can convert files to midis? I looked in this musicmatch over here and it couldn't convert...
Clefo
Uhh Ferg, Not to be rude or anything, but what kind of file did you want to convert to Midi? Or do you know what most midis sound like in that case?

That would be like hearing a song and then writing all the notes to it for every instrument used in it. So maybe there isn't a program to do it. Well, at least not one that readily available. Still, there has to be someway to make them, i wonder if there is a program out there that lets you write them....

Zygomaticus
I always thought midis had to actually be played on a keyboard and recorded into a computer through a certain wire. If i thought right, then it wont be possible to change an mp3 or a wav file into a midi - you'll need to play your own midis or use one that someone else has played. DashRendar
Yes there are a few programs to Convert other Midis into Midis-and no they don't have good quality, after all it's most likely just guessing at the instruments and notes, so it's never gonna be perfect-and I highly doubt words would work on them, period. Yes there are programs to CREATE Midis-the one I had was called "Mozart" and you just write the notes to a song on Staves and assign certain instruments to certain staves. Both types of programs can be found at: Downloads.com
Tie Guy
I know for a fact that you can't have words. Unless you can make a guitar speak like that whathisname. Anyways, not many peoples' sound cards have speech synthesizers, so it just woulnd't work to do speech.
