Dicemaster
I'm sorry to say this guys....but this sounds just like the jedi academey http://academy.jediknightii.net I know the rules here sound strict...but i have currently been a mebmer for over 6 months and LOVE IT. I have never found anything like this in my life. These rules make it work and trust me i aws there before the rules were addapted, and that sucked everyone attacked ppl randomly and no one could learn anything. Now it is great. New comers enter the server for there first time and can simply say "i'm new" and everyone there will offer him help. Heres the other thing....this academy has round 1000 members and i would say nearly 600 always active there whenever they can be people. I myself have tried leaving going to other games/servers, but never lasts more then a week. I highly suggest you all come on over to our website and check us out.....its great. Seriously its great. anyway i'm out

BucMan55
As a semi-high ranking member of the Jedi Academy, I'd like to urge you all to get this back to the community aspects of what this idea represents.... Leave the bickering out of it.... And the rules are there to eliminate the trouble players.....Kinda like drug tests...if someone doesn't do drugs, why would they object to a random test..... SaNtA*Smile
guys... ure not getting the goal of it... i love jedi academy i just read the website earlier today but the effect ja has is nothing compared to what a community can do together this is about a COMMUNITY work to improve the gaming level and to improve the normal players so there can be more experienced and nice players. if we all continue fighting for saying whos got the best mod or ideas we wont end up with anything. all those ideas came from my head after researching and asking players their ways of thinking green hornet: we didnt say to "flood" the servers with trainings, were saying that training those willing to be will greatly improve the community level if we all do it as a team. i never copied ja or anything i didnt even know about it like i said earlier, i just learned by reading those posts talking of it, JA is doing is part and its really good and i congrats them for it cause it seems to be huge, but we need to all work together and stop fighting together to improve the gaming level and everybody will agree the fun will be way bigger. i thank jediknightii.net for putting it on main page this way people will see it easily and read it, also they wouldnt have accepted to put it if wed have copied JA u know
DStocker429
I have and am STILL enjoying Jedi Outcast. I don't think its in that much trouble. Maybe interest has waned a little, maybe not, I don't know for sure. I for one WILL continue to play it for a long time to come. I am reluctant to join a clan. Even though I have looked into some of them and read their rules, I feel I may not be good enough for them. I am an average player. I enjoy downloading an occasional new SP level or new MP map to play against my bots. But as for Mods......I'd like to keep my game as close to the original as I can. On another topic about the game. I have the utmost RESPECT for all other players out there. However, when I go onto a server, you always run across an overzealous, think-they-know-it-all, arrogant, beligerent jerk that screws up the fun. Honestly, I'm in this game to have FUN!!!!! I really don't care if I win or lose. Here's an example I know many of you have seen or experienced. You're trying to become or already are involved in a duel on an FFA map. Then some yahoo jumps in the middle and starts hacking away or shooting the duelers. These idiots have absolutely NO RESPECT for the other participants. On the other hand, when I enter a server, as soon as I spawn in, I extinguish my Lightsaber and just walk around observing others. If someone wants to duel me, thats fine. Maybe I'll accomodate them. If not, I'll turn and walk away. Now why can't others do it like that? Simple. They just don't care. And it ruins the game and the FUN of it. Anyway, I will continue to play and enjoy this game for a long time to come. And to all of those naysayers that complain that the game could have been done better or differently, I say I'd like to see you spend the time and money necessary to create it. If you don't like it, take it back for a refund or make your own. Otherwise shut up. I'd give this game a 10 anytime. This is just one persons opinion, but I'm sure some of you feel the same way. May the Force be with you all. Take care.

massadoobie
As Leader of the Jedi Academy, my opinion of this is... rock on, more power to ya. The point of the Academy is to improve the community, but I understand that we only help in a small way since we aren't as prevalent in the community as a news post on the jk2.net main page. so it's always good to see people trying to continue improvements. and for those of you who say we have strict rules... they're really not as strict as it seems. if you read them, they all go back to the same idea, having respect for the people you're playing with and acting civilized. sure, we have our share of problems, but no one can get something like this perfect. but i'd say that our little JA community has at least had a minor positive impact on the JK2 community as a whole, if not a rather large one. that being said, anyone who wants to work with us (and our over 1000 members), feel free to drop us a line at fixtheja@hotmail.com and we'll see if we can help each other (that means you santa smile )... one thing though, since we're completely clan-independent, if this is just a ploy to recruit clan members, count us out. if it's a serious attempt to revive/improve the JK2 community, count us in. Sinister12
Indeed, it does seen as if interest in Jedi Knight II multiplayer is dwindling. I can't say i'm really suprised because Duel is only truly great game mode there, in my opinion, plus, the maps that were offered by default(patches withstanding) weren't terribly exciting, neither were the models. Now, we have heaps of great models out, and some more to come, we have alot of the most request ones such as Yoda, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Maul, etc, etc, so there's quite a few models now on both sides of Sith and Jedi. Heh, I suppose it would be cool if someone started a Sith clan, the higher ups in the Sith would have models of Vader, Palpatine, Desann, etc, and red lightsabers, apprentices would have Maul, Tavion, etc models with red sabers too. On the Jedi clan, the apprentices/padawans could have models of Ep1 Obi-Wan, Anakin, etc and carry a blue lightsaber, the "Masters" could have green sabers and have models like Qui-Gon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, etc and the grand-masters have models like Windu, Yoda and have purple sabers(of course anyone could choose to have the saber color of choice, ie, master could have either green or blue, grand master could have purple, blue or green and padawan green or blue, but preferably blue). I dunno, I guess they are just my suggestions. Feel free to take them aboard.
FAJ_Simon
Greetings Santa (and others) I like your idea about Jedi School And I myself would like to Help I find myself to be an above average JKO player and I enjoy going into "Newbie Only" servers on the zone and helping them out. I myself run a RolePlayers Club for JKO our main goal is to improve JKO as well we strive to improve the RPGS in a sense but we have a few other "departments as well. Ill Explain. We also run a JKO Movie Section where we are recording JKO Footage in Game and Converting them to AVI where they will be edited to include Voice Acting,Special FX,and BG Music and no they arent Screenshot movies like Episode II recreation and some of zappas other movies. Its lag-free footage ive tested it myself. We are also trying to get our "Fun Games" Department going where we will play a scheduled "Fun Game" once a week some examplse are Team Hide and go Seek,Tag,jetpack tag, team snipering and others. We are basicly trying to keep JKO from dying as well. Now I would like to help you in your School and Ill even try to GEt CM (My clan) to join your united clans thing but I doubt you will find a lot of willing teachers as most of the JKO players that I know who are good are Crude their vision is clouded with the DArk Sid and they dont want to share their power with anyone for they like to be on top and in control so we might have a war on our hands lol but is you school going to be teaching just Sabers and Force? cause guns IMO is an important part as well I am good in all three IMO so give me a shout on RPIs forums or my clans forums or email me CM= http://www.crimsonmercenaries.com RPI= http://www.roleplayersinc.com email= lordsod521@hotmail.com Thanx Again CM_Ronin OA Ronin/OGO/OD/CM ( BF, RoA ) CM-00601
RahnDelSol
I know I may be tempting the iron hand of the moderator here, but who gives a fark. There are things that need to be said, and if JA is mentioned as a part of that, so be it. I've been a JA member almost since it opened, so I have a couple of things to say about this thread. #1. Great idea. The more places people have to learn, the better off we all are. #2. JA has "strict" rules for a reason. Without rules and enforcement, there would be anarchy. The JA servers are not just some FFA server where you join up and start killing everyone in sight. They are a place to learn, and to practice. You can't do this if 15 people are flying all over, spamming DFA's. Your school should enforce similar rules if you want things to work. Trust what we say, we speak from experience. And I think I can speak for many of the JA members and council when I say good luck, we hope you have all the success you're looking for
NerfYoda
Yeah its another JA member posting to your thread ... That sounds like a very cool idea. If you need any help getting it off the ground let me know. Running a school based on community support and volunteerism is a difficult thing to say the least. Russk: Id like to hear your opinion on what you think changed to make the JA a not so nice place. Andy: How bout some love for the JA on the jediknightii.net front page? Terbo
I started jk2 when it first came out. I loved playing lightsaber duels but the first person death match stufff i didnt like... only lightsaber for me. The biggest problem i seen with jk2 that made it die was that it had so many different types of playing styles and the scene got ripped apart into those styles. Then each style had certain options some people liked force others not and so on. So the scene go split so much that there wasnt much chance for it to survive. I think this a good idea man. I personaly don't play jk2 anymore and really don't plan to but I know what it is like to have a dieing community. I played q2 untill last sept... worked really hard keeping it alive as long as it did. There should be a mod released like how quake 3 has osp. That brings a real good competitive scene. Competition is what drives a scene if you didn't notice that by other games. As long as a game has good competition it will have a good scene. I suggest that everyplay use irc use a server like irc.enterthegame.com . This keeps a comunity going also. You will be able to contact other players in a flash, scrimage, get pickup games, talk about the game/comunity. I'm sure that alot of you already use irc but are you all using the same server? like quake almost every US quake player uses irc.enterthegame.com. Also to keep it alive jk2 needs to release some new news to the world because most people have forgoten it, or someone should hold a lan tourney or a really good online tourney with prizes. theres my 2 cents... Good Luck jk2 players
FAJ_Simon
Hi Again, I just got back from one of ur omniclan servers which is supposed to be this Jedi School and Id like to give you my Critique of what I experienced. Ok First I join the Server and Right Away I seen a few problems like NF Sabers and a plethora of rules. Then I join the Game and All I see is people runnig around menacely with sabers doing nothing but DFAs and Downslashes. Noone asked me if I needed Help (I didnt but your school is supposed to teach people and noone even bothered) and All Your Server was In My opinion was another Clans NF Sabers Server and this whole jedi school bit was a mere way to get your server populated IE: Front page of JediKnight II.net news and I have realised that you must know someone to get vital info posted there for I seen them post about other RPG Clubs so I submit News about mine to 3 diff news posters nothing. I see them posting other peoples JKO Movies submit 3 peeps again Nothing. Now I see Jedu SChool make front page as our last hope for JKO and I go to check it out and its just one big NF Sabers-Fests AkA "DFA and Downslash __InSert Clan Tag HERE__ Server which there is far too many of in my opinion I really think you should rethink this one and get ur priorities straight if its going to be another one of these servers then the Fate of JKO is Doomed. You Barely took advantage of any of omnimods features I was kind of interested in tryoing out the new Jedi vs merc mode and I also wanted to see if your Server funtioned like the Jedi Academy but I sawe none of this only the previous. I still would like to help in any way I can hit me up on any of my previous posts info things.
Moving Shadow
what server was it.. dont make assumptions. the teachers are not there at the moment we are in process of building. we have 5 diff servers. make sure ur posting the correct nameof the server. what name u used also make sure it didnt say ffa so before u talk give the info correctly before u judge and give the names indtead of complaining. Ronin_Medjai
I made no assumptions about anything it was the server that says omnimod not the one that says JK2 Community Saver or whatever that one was empty and according to the motd this server was already converted to jedi schoool all I did in my posting was offer you some suggestions on how to make your *Golden Plan* better and to let you know what I experienced with no harshness and now you verbally attack me with remarks like "First off..." and other sarcastic crap you are not my mother dont talk to me like u are scolding me,if this is how members of Jedi SChool are going to portray themselves then this is alreadya failure and you say you are trying to put 'honor' back into the Game pfffft It Didnt say FFA it Said Jedi SChool and had all the rules and the omni clan peoiple there did nothing wrong its just it wasnt what you said it was going to be which is a school for newbies to learn I went there to hopefully show my skill and apply for a Teaching position to help you guys out and it was one big FFA and then I try to let you guys know that and you send this guy after me.....pffft. Ill wait until I see some changes in Jedi School before I go back to class till then I'm playing hookie.

Crusada
I think this is a great idea! The JK2 community needs help badly. If we can get a few big clans to dedicate themselves to training others then more are sure to follow. But I think it should also be done by everyone else. If you notice someone constantly asking questions, or losing many duels, be a good community member. Take them aside and teach them some basics. Give them some websites to check out so they can practice this stuff. And don't put them down! The second you start saying, "No you idiot! like this..." or "OMG you suck there's no hopw for you." they're gone. They'll only stay newbs. Help them out, answer some questions and give them something to build their skills on. I'm not saying to dedicate all of your time to training Padawans. just help them out and encourage them.
