Darth Boboy Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 based on the subject.. if any of you agree with me that they should create jedi outcast for the ps2 console too..
Lemon Head Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 i can't see any reason why not...unless it impeeds with the development of FT2 in which case i can
Darth Boboy Posted February 7, 2003 Author Posted February 7, 2003 i wonder why jedi outcast won't be able to be realesed on ps2. is it the graphics or the controllers?
guybrush guy Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 its' probibly money.......lucas arts has a limted bugget, they probibly did'nt make mutch money on jedi outcast for the gamecube. and i also agree with lemon head, they should'nt if it interfears with FT2
Gexx Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 lucasarts strapped for cash? how did this happen?
scabb Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 They were robbed. CNN suspect it was somehow linked with both Iraq and al-Qaeda. LucasArts don't need to release JK2 on the PS2, as it's already brimming with many first person shooters. The Game Cube, on the other hand, doesn't have half as many, and perhaps it had been estabilished through market research that there was a large Star Wars / FPS fanbase that owned GameCubes. If you really want to play it, get it for the PC - The format it was supposed to be played on.
Lemon Head Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 long live the PC! the ultimate platform! (in my opinion)
Gabez Posted February 9, 2003 Posted February 9, 2003 Or Xbox. I thought the force powers could be a bit fiddly on a keyboard, so I also wanted to try it on a console.
Jake Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 I think they said it was the PS2's hardware - wasn't worth the time or money to pay a programmer work full time to optimise JKII's modified-Q3 code enough for it to run at consistant 30 FPS. The XBox port especially seemed to be pretty good, though the GC one wasnt that bad either I guess (depends on if you trust IGN or Gamespot). Force powers were cycled through with one of the buttons, as were saber stances. Apparently it wasnt all that unmanageable. I've only played it on PC's and Macs though.
Lemon Head Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 I liked it, personally, once you get the saber and a few force powers that is.
Gabez Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 Yeah, I liked the game. It wasn’t totally amazing, but it was pretty fun and generally well made. Definitely recommended to Star Wars fans.
