For all of you that saw the movie but didn't read the book, here's the Sorting Hat's song (yes, it sings) from Harry's first year :

"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,

But don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find

A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your bowlers black,

Your top hats sleek and tall,

For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat

And I can cap them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head

The Sorting Hat can't see,

So try me on and I will tell you

Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,

Where dwell the brave at heart,

Their daring, nerve, and chivalry

Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,

Where they are just and loyal,

Those patient Hufflepuffs are true

And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,

If you've a ready mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin

You'll make your real friends,

Those cunning folk use any means

To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!

And don't get in a flap!

You're in safe hands (though I have none)

For I'm a Thinking Cap!"

The song actually changes from year to year, but there have only been 2 Sorting Hat songs in the books, because in Harry's second and third years he missed the sorting ceremony.

There seems to be more Gryffindors then anything else here - I wonder what the count is for each house?

Pffft. No one beats Cedric Diggory anyway (he was a Huffepuff). Tall, handsome, a great wizard, a great seeker (the only one who has ever beaten Harry in a Quidditch match), friendly, fair, and the one who won the Triwizard Tournament (ok, he tied with Harry, but Harry had great help from Moody/Crouch and Bagman. Even though Harry never meant to be helped by them, it is still unfair, as Moody was a teacher and Bagman was one of the judges)

I've started to like Hufflepuff ;)

Edit:

Dunno, you could be a fan of the movies, just like I am! I dont wanna read the books, so I just watch the movies, and theyre quite nicely done !

I'll agree with Aru-Wen on this one, if you liked the movies at all, you'll love the books.

Pfft. Diggory only won at Quidditch because Harry had other stuff on his mind.

And they tied the Triwizard Tournament because Harry passed on whatever inside information he got from Moody (who shouldn't count as a professor) to Cedric, so I say that makes them even.

And if Cedric hadn't felt so bad about accepting so much help from Harry, he would've

gotten the trophy himself, stayed alive, and kept Voldemort from returning to power (at least temporarily).
