Exar_reborn Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 I just thought I'd check on the SW Vault forums and holy crap is there a lot of hate over there. There are atleast 3 post on the first page that go something like this "Are Roleplayers costing us vehicles" "Role players are ruining our gaming experience!!!" Its just like flame all the roleplayers. So can someone please tell me what is so bad about them?

As in, no free for alls and PvP ALL the time. We play a character as if we were that character in real life, with belongings and views of the galaxy. Those who do not like the RPer are those who want to just run around becoming elite players and uber guilders. So I say this: Why should we RPers not start a thread complaining about all the elite players and uber guilders? Becasue we are nice. ;)

Sunshine Badass Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 Maybe they are talking about how an RPer would "own" a vehicle, and if it happened to be "stolen" they would get all their character's in-game friends to come over and hunt the thief down... throw a big party? Get a candied goat or something? I have no clue... Sounds like they are just finding things to blame for problems that do not exist.
setsuko Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 Well, I think they mean that the reason why the devs are putting more time on polishing the details instead of making new stuff like vehicles is because roleplayers are more interesting in getting involved in the game than running around blasting things. So, you could say we have other priorities. Also, roleplayers tend to care a lot more for their characters, since unlike those... those... gamers, they mean something for us. I guess that is the real difference here!

And who would know better how a roleplaying game should look like? Roleplayers! Basic math if you ask me. I mean, if you don't like roleplaying games, then don't play it I would say.

If you thought that a jedi was the best thing to be but i thought a bounty hunter was(which it is)then we would run out of points to say and just be like well your gay or some stupid thing like that.
