Burrie
I've been keeping my eyes out for this plot point, and I'm now fairly convinced that this "Czerka Corporation" will play an important part in the final game. It has already received various mentions on the site... From the Kashyyyk section Despite the untamed nature that encases Kashyyyk, Chuundar's actions have allowed outside interests to gain a foothold. The near-limitless Czerka Corporation has established a series of small spaceports under the guise of searching the forests for unique resources. Such expeditions would normally be tremendously expensive, but the company has found a brutally efficient cost-saving measure: slave labor. This foul trade has begun in earnest, with some local inhabitants all too willing to assist. From the Korriban section The spaceport is under the roof of the Czerka Corporation stronghold, the very center of power for the giant corporation run by President Pollard Seario. The city itself owes its existence to the power created by Czerka's generators. Perhaps Pollard seeks solace from his uncountable holdings in the vast emptiness of this world; perhaps he dreams of shadowy promises that ooze from the tombs of long dead Sith Lords. From the Tattooine section The outpost of Anchorhead, run by Czerka Corporation, is the only settlement currently inhabited, and it appears to be slowly dying. Officers are tightlipped about why the operation is failing, but rumor is beginning to circulate that Tatooine ore is substandard in some way. The company has denied this, but the strength of that denial has given the rumors credibility. It is likely that Czerka Corporation will eventually abandon their stake in Tatooine, but for now, five to ten thousand settlers attempt to make a living on the surface and beneath. From HK-47's bio... Rumored to have been created by Czerka Corp to eliminate the heads of rival corporations, HK-47 is quite capable of laying waste to an entire building in an effort to dispose of a single target, as it has demonstrated on more than one occasion in the past. And there might be more in the character's section whom I've missed. Now, what are your thoughts on this Czerka Corporation? What is their role? My thoughts are that this organisation is a backer of the Malak's Empire, and might be responsible for all the war material that the Sith Empire possesses. This Pollard Seario is prolly a bit of a coward presidental-figurehead, and I can see him being tossed away by Malak at some point for his mistakes. I hope that we can see his bio somewhere down the road.
Taos
Good research there Burrie! I think I agree with you on every point you have. This Czerka Corp is going to have a large role in the game. I also believe that they are seceretly funding the Sith Empire in the war just so that guy can take over the republic [sound familiar? ] Finally, I would not be a bit suprised to see Malak kill this guy. The Czerka corp also has a nice resemblance to the mafia as well.
Burrie
Interesting. I typed in Czerka in google.com, and to my utmost surprise, Czerka has already been mentioned in various Star Wars sources. Listen to a little tidbit that I got off this page... Czerka The galaxy's third largest arms manufacturer, Czerka produces blasters, artillery, melee weapons, starship weapons, and starship defense systems. During the Galactic Civil War, Czerka reluctantly agreed to establish an exclusive distribution agreement with the empire, although it has been a strong supporter of the New Republic in recent years. Now, I can't really make out wether this is information from an official source(I'll be asking around at my favorite EU forum), I must say that this might be a very cool tie-in. EDIT : Yup, Czerka is an official business in Star Wars. Just look at what the arms & equipment guide extras over at the Wizards of the Coast website has to say about the subject. Czerka Fields: Weapons Well-Known Products: Flame rifle, Adjudicator, Vibroknucklers The third largest weapons manufacturer of arms (behind BlasTech and Merr-Sonn), Czerka makes personal energy weapons but has had its greatest success with non-blaster weapons such as flame projectors, vibro-weapons, and slugthrowers. It is the industry leader in the field of "non-standard" munitions. In the days of the Old Republic, Czerka sold to any buyer with the credits, but during the time of the Empire, it has "officially" signed an exclusive distribution deal with the Empire. During this period, a large amount of Czerka munitions found its way out of the warehouses and into aftermarket sales. Following the establishment of the New Republic, it has followed its sales to this new galactic powerhouse and actively courts their business. ultimaster
I kinda had the right feeling I guess. I first assumed that the Czerka Corp. seemed evil, and it looks like its true, at least for this time period. I don't follow the EU really, but I had a feeling Czerka Corp. must have been fairly large due to that part about the near-limitless resources or whatever. Thanks Burrie, great work as usual. Jedi Apprentice
Wow, excellent research you got there, Burrie. This Czerka corp. seems very suspicious. I will definitely have to keep an eye out for all information on them. I don't think we'll get to watch them be taken down because it stated in the above information that they were around during the OT. Apparently Bioware did their research too because HK-47's weapons all match up with what the Czerka corp. makes. Excellent thread. You sure do some deep speculation. But it is all good stuff! covenant_bad
Hmm well i suppose Czerka corp will turn out to be evil as its always those penny pinching corperations that want to take over the galaxy.lol. And as for Burrie's reseach its really cool how Bioware have linked the entire game back to canon SW with all the extra info and what not.
Guest Jed
Chances are, this *evil* company may have something to do with HK-47...may involve them turning HK against the PC...
Swat
they might have planted a bug which permits the corp's agents to activate HK-47 and turn it against the owner
ultimaster
It would make sense if HK-47 and Czerka were somehow connected. If not allied, then opposed to each other. The droids available to be in your party seem to be made for war, which sounds like exceptions from the typical droids of the time I suppose. This could lead to HK turning, but vice versa it could lead to him joining you against Czerka Corp.

Guest Jed
I'm thinking more along the lines of that the PC ends up doing something to piss Czerka off...then if HK is in your party, you end up kicking his ass. Wow, that'd be cool.
Jedi Apprentice
I see HK as a very pessimistic character who could always be on the verge of turning on you. Or he could be completely loyal due to his programming. I don't think we will be able to get away from Czerka though. The company seems to be everywhere and involved in everything. I would like to be able to take HK down though if possible through one of the story path's.

Maybe like in BG2, when certain Asian bounty hunters have to die (come on, Yoshimo was cool! ) ceratain droids will turn on you...
Jedi Apprentice
More tidbits about Czerka And here is the main info from the unofficial encyclopedia at theforce.net: Czerka Arms This large corporation manufactured a variety of hold-out blasters, flame weapons, and handheld projectile weapons. During the last centuries of the Old Republic, Czerka sold its wares to any buyer with ready credits. However, during the height of the New Order, Czerka worked out an exclusive distribution deal with the Empire and was the third largest producer of weapons in the galaxy, behind only BlasTech and Merr-Sonn. With the fall of the Empire, Czerka courted the New Republic in an effort to increase their marketshare and presence in the galaxy. Most of it is the same as what as Burrie wrote but I thought it would be nice to see it again from a different source. The first link shows what Czerka did through various stories. Very interesting.........
TheChosenOne-
Non blasters huh--maybe they make those cortis blades and vio blades.Maybe the company is run by this president who is also the sith lord malak.Kinda like a pre-palpatine. Heres a scary thought--if this company made hk-47,how many more hk-47s do they got. This company could also be a third party, watching and waiting for the Sith and Jedi to elimanate each other and take over. A very interesting thought. I never considered having to face both Sith and Czerka as enemy factions. As you said, if they produce a lot of these droids, maybe you could even face a small army of them. *runs off to count the limitless story options this game could have*
Burrie
'oi, thanks for those links, Jedi Apprentice. They have some interesting information, and I like to see the kind of wares that Czerka has created. Non blasters huh--maybe they make those cortis blades and vio blades.Maybe the company is run by this president who is also the sith lord malak.Kinda like a pre-palpatine. Pollard Seario being Darth Malak... mmm, sounds like an interesting plot twist. If this president turns out to be bald, I'll be sure to keep my eyes on him. Heres a scary thought--if this company made hk-47,how many more hk-47s do they got. This company could also be a third party, watching and waiting for the Sith and Jedi to elimanate each other and take over. *imagines facing an army of HK-47s*... gulp, seeing as how one of them was capable of taking out an entire building, I certainly hope that won't happen It would be interesting if the company would suddenly turn on its Sith partner halfway through the game. I doubt Czerka is planning on attempting a takeover. Unless Malak is controlling the company. Think about it. They would need a few minor things: 1)an army. 2)more guns than they could manufacture. If these were somehow true... -I doubt the people would allow the company to stay together. -since they sided with the Empire, they probably have a previous history in rebellious acts...Maybe that's why they seem evil. Oh, and more than one HK is too much for me.

Well, it stated in HK's bio that he alone can bring down a whole building full of people so I don't think they would have to produce too much to have a fairly powerful army. Also, they are a large corporation so producing enough arms to be effiecient wouldn't be that tough considering they supply numerous parts of the galaxy and some large affiliations. One HK? Shoot, bring 'em all on.

TheChosenOne-
Don;t underestmate theses guys. This organization has networks.Networks--have spies.Spies that could sit on the jedi counsel or be a Sith.Spies that could send us to certain death.I;m still sticking to my theory that a sith runs the show. A three man party of theses hk's....hm...(hunter killers)na...you'd be fighting amongst yourselfs.Ones good enough for me.I'll let him join,as with the others, but i'm keeping my levels higher and weapons ready. Burrie
But note that the Czerka from the Empire era produces weapons. This is a Czerka from 4000 years before that, lots of things can change. It even seems that Czerka will serve the bad guys, whilst it seems to be somewhat supportive for the rebels later on.
