Very perceptive, Man with Saber. You should go be a spy for Microsoft.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else thinks it's not random. If you don't know what I'm talking about and think I'm on crack (you're right?), play the NS map where theres a whole buncha rodian snipers and just stand in one spot where they can hit you and move around a little. Kyle should dodge some of the shots. I don't know if it works with cheats.

Micro$oft's spies are built in to the software. ;]

It hasn't been mentioned in this thread, but I noticed two distinct types of sniper dodge. One where he speeded up(with the force speed sound) and moved out of the way. And also one where he twisted like the Rebones do to avoid being hit.

The simple solution to this is probably that the Xbox (and probably Gamecube as well) versions of JK2, due to the added difficulty of trying to control Kyle with a gamepad, have put in a form of "auto dodge" which acts similar to Level 3 seeing into single player.

The PC version has NO SEEING in single player. Not even with cheats! I've played that level many times, and never dodged a single shot (been sniped by disruptor fire hundreds of times though).

The developers probably felt it was too hard, so they tweaked it for the home version.

I actually own the Xbox version (press copy) but I lack an actual Xbox console, so I can't test it (sadly no places in the area rent Xboxes). But I assure you, unless its some new mod I haven't heard about, the PC version has no such power.

I even tried what some suggested, using Speed, with the saber out, etc... no dodging, period.

Well, if u noticed in SP. when hit by sniper shot, u will see kyle auto dogde and the force speed will automaticly turn on for less than 5 SEC. tThis means that you have been hit by the sniper shot. But when you get hit by sniper shot and kyle auto dogde and if force speed does not turn on, it means that u have succsesfuly dogde the sniper shot.:)

Try it on an easier difficulty. I went back and replayed the game on hard the other day and I couldn't dodge. Try easy or medium.

I played through the game on medium already and didn't notice it... not even once.

I'll try what you suggested and warp there on easy with full force to see if it ever happens, but somehow I doubt it.

I won't say you're wrong until I try it though... ; )

Update: I have been proven wrong!

I tested ns_streets with the setforceall 3 cheat on easy difficulty, and the force "power" works as described....

Not always, but often enough not to be a bug, when you're fired upon by a disruptor shot you "dodge" it just like the NPC Jedi do, and it automatically uses up a bunch of your mana blocks. It makes the sound like Force Speed and slows you down for a split second while it has your body "bend" to dodge the shot.

This makes that (frustrating) level infinitely easier since they won't kill you with every shot (like on Jedi Knight difficulty). It's a shame they couldn't have just given you Force Seeing or allowed you to block the shots with your lightsaber like how it works in MP, but oh well.

So I learned something new, thanks!

SHOOT THEM IN THE GROIN! It actually works! For some reason if you shoot around the shnuts/beltbuckle they won't dodge.

If I remember right, this doesn't work on all Reborn (at least on the Xbox.) Which ones have you tried it on? I remember it working on the first one of the game, but not the second. And the only other one I remember trying it on and having it work was the one between the spinning things o' death in Cairn Reactor.

This trick also seems to work in MP on the box to overcome the seeing dodge.
