1- saving problem....

depending on what version of PS you have, you may have to go "SAVE AS A COPY" under the file menu.... you should then be able to select the file type

2- make a text layer, then right click it. then blending options... then outer glow. choose the colour, set the properties. that's the easiest way.

I use xp and PS 7 too....

Try going "save as copy" under file, and change the file type in the file type tab.

and for the glow, make sure your 'layers' window is open, and when you create text with the tes tool, a new layer should show up in this window. right click it, and go blending options, then outer glow....

Are you editing this animated GIF inside ImageReady or Photoshop?

I think in Imageready, which comes with Photoshop 7, it should allow you to add the text imbetween, or on frames....

Make sure you can see the layer order, since you will need to place the text in the right order. By default it will add to the top layer, add the ever growing text in inbetween the layers until the last one is the full text, if that is what you want...

You mean add a glow?

Pop up the layers window by going to window> and make sure that layers is ticked, right click on the text layer (will prob be what you typed)

then click on blending options. Goto add outer glow and from there you can do what you want with the glow :)
