Burrie Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Apparantly, a site called unlimitedlives had lots of footage from E3 at their site. This includes a 21-minutes video of Knights of the Old Republic which shows off a lot. Unlimitedlives were forced to remove all their downloads due to many download they received. Sucks, right? Wrong. A friendly bloke at the official forums is currently uploading the movie as we speak. It's zipped in a 42 MB Rar file, and you can download it in a few moments at this link. Like I said, he's uploading it at the moment... if you start your download, and the file size isn't 42 MB, stop your download and wait for a few minutes until the upload is complete. EDIT : Okay, I just saw the movie... astounding. They shows lots of information, the sound is very good... I especially liked Zalbaar's voice and the lipsync is very good... and they let you hear some brilliant dialogue with HK-47(VOICE AND ALL)! They show off many features, including combat, dialogue, saber modification, pod racing... Be wary though, there are lots of spoilers in here... for example... The player fights three Dark Jedi at one point whom give some remark about Malak and a certain event. I didn't hear it, as I had the sound off throughout the entire video to avoid spoilers, and I quickly covered up the text dialogue. Two important cutscenes... one from the introduction(I think), and one which might show the entire video of a certain event which we saw in the trailer(it's the one right after the Malak's first line in the trailer). I can't be certain about the latter, as I immediately skipped forward when I saw what was going on. They show off several bits of the inventory which showed a rather... interesting item They show a quest log which could possibly contain several spoilers. Again, I'm not too sure about this, as I immediately covered up the part which went into detail... In any case, the download is worthly if only to hear the Wookiee and HK-47 speak, and to view the pod race a bit. One thing's for certain, this game has INCREDIBLE potential. As always, please cover up the spoilers.
reptille00 Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 I'm having a problem playing the video after extracting it..have tried Windows Media Player, Quicktime and Realplayer..anyone else having problems?
Burrie Posted May 23, 2003 Author Posted May 23, 2003 Mmmm, I had problems with the sound codec, it wouldn't play the sound the first time. I tried playing it under an older media player but that wouldn't work either... when I reloaded it in the Media Player tho', the program downloaded the right codec this time around. I heard that there was a new media player released recently... mayhaps an upgrade is in order?
Esan Pelpat Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 That was a great video! Showed quite a bit I am particularily looking forward to swoop racing:D Great Find Burrie!
Guest Jed Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Burrie, that was truly amazing. You're right, it's jam-packed with spoilers though And I loved every moment of it.
Jedi Apprentice Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Oooohh, nice Burrie. I saw this on the official board also, but didn't post it because like you said, unlimited lives had to take the videos down. Thanks for posting the correct info! *waits impatiently on 56k....again*

Swat Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 i have the lastest version of Window Media Player and can't play it. tried DivX and Quicktime as well
Katarn07 Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 I saw this yesterday. TURN ON THE VOLUME! The guy has the TV's volume low, except when you see the volume bar go up to hear Jawas and Zaalbar talk. I didn't see the inventory, I didn't read the journal, but I did watch both cutscenes. I didn't read the dialogue, but didn't we know the end result of the second one? The trailer showed us that Also, the 1st one just is a space battle, but I didn't watch it. It'll be better seeing it for the first time while I play it on XBOX.
Eets Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Originally posted by Swat i have the lastest version of Window Media Player and can't play it. tried DivX and Quicktime as well It's a quicktime video.. Do you have the latest version of that?
Burrie Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 It's a quicktime video?! Quicktime doesn't support WMV, does it? Are you two mixing up the wrong videos?
Echuu Shen-Jon Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 The file is only 39,6 MB, when I download it! Is that right?
Eets Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Originally posted by Burrie It's a quicktime video?! Quicktime doesn't support WMV, does it? Are you two mixing up the wrong videos? Did I say quicktime? I meant uh... *runs away*
Echuu Shen-Jon Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Good. It's on 75% now! Oh, I wait as a little child EDIT: I've seen the movie. It was great, but full of spoilers!
Project U Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 Call me a "spoiled" child but I just can't stand the 10min.'s downloadingtime with my cable connection.
Jedi Apprentice Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 Originally posted by Project U Call me a "spoiled" child but I just can't stand the 10min.'s downloadingtime with my cable connection. *kicks Project U* Try almost 2 hours on 56k. And then it doesn't work. Anyone have some juicy details? Or maybe somewhere you can get it as a Quicktime file...... If not, July isn't too far away.
Project U Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 JediApp: no need to kick me, mine doesnt work either:(... I could really also use a Quicktime .mpeg file to. How does the .rar file work??? Does anyone have such a .mpeg file?
Burrie Posted May 25, 2003 Author Posted May 25, 2003 A quicktime mpeg? I believe we are mixing up various words here .rar is an archive just like a zip file. You'll need winrar to extract the movie.
Project U Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 And when i have extracted with a Winrar program, then the movie is, what???
Burrie Posted May 25, 2003 Author Posted May 25, 2003 A WMV. The movie file itself is in various winrar files, which can be found in the main winrar file(the one you downloaded). Extract all those files to a directory, then extract the movie from those rars.
Swat Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 Originally posted by Burrie They show off several bits of the inventory which showed a rather... interesting item ha, i saw it too. interesting indeed... it's Darth Revan's robes
Frosty_V2.1 Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 Well I didn't download the video for fear of the spoilers..but I couldn't resist that spoiler tagged text, heh, selected the first four letters, that was very interesting so finally looked at the whole thing..well that wasn't so bad heh. So anyway, how good is the lipsyncing and facial animation? Is it comparable to say NOLF2 or <insert game here> or ... *prays * as good as HL-2
Pad Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 downloaded it and watch it. i didnt have sound (donno why) but i dont mind. less spoilers for me
