Heya,

I'm kinda new here...and anyway Star Wras KoToR looks like a great game. I am not going to have a computer or anything ain a month or two (my dad has a mac...but I'm moving).

And anyhnow I just can't bloody decide whether I want to buy a PC or x-box. I wanna play KoToR a lot. I also want to play Morrow Wind and some other games that are for both X-box and PC. I don't think I'll use the internet too much, so....it comes down to a) do I really wanna spend 2000-3000 on a good comptuer with good sound and graphics? Or do I spend a mere 150-200 bucks and buy an x-box off ebay? I mean...is it really that much worth it to play games on the pc?

I know that there will probably be (and I'm hoping for) a whole bunch of really good Modes which will extend the gameplay.

What do you think the system requirements will be for KoToR to have it it run really really well (high res)? How good is the x-box graphics card?

Thanx for any help,

Viswanath

ps

it kinda bothers me that they are porting the x-box version of KoToR to PC...shouldn't it be the other way around? rrrg

Well there are other things too. If you buy the XBox version then you will get it a couple months sooner. Both versions will have downloadable content also.

It's mainly a matter of what you like playing with best and if you can handle the wait for the PC version.

Controller vs. Keyboard & Mouse

The XBox card is really good and the game won't suffer any graphical losses being on the XBox.

We don't know the requirements yet, but I'd think to have it really run well you would need a high end PC. The devs were trying to make it compatible with the weaker or older hardware too so that everyone can enjoy it.

It's all a matter of what you prefer. The main differences will be interfaces, controller or mouse and keyboard and the release date.

So you just have to weed out all of those decisions and see what comes out on top. :)

Only partly true.

While computer games can be modded by the fans and not only the actual game company, KoTOR for the XBox will receive extra content via XBox live.

So the PC users won't get all of the fun. :p

The advantage of getting a PC is, of course, that you can use it for a lot more than simply playing games. If you just want to play games, then I would probably say getting a console is a smarter move, because getting a top-of-the-line PC just to play games seems a tad overkill to me. I don't just use my own PC for games, but for lots of other stuff as well - like logging into these forums. :D;)

Yes, a PC has a higher res, and if you're used to keyboard+mouse and not used to a gamepad, the transition might not be strange.

Basically, I wouldn't recommend getting a PC just to play games. If you intend to do other stuff as well, then it might be a better option. Of course, Option 3 would be to get a low spec PC for other stuff, and a console for gameplaying...the best of both worlds. :D
