These all deal with the final (and perhaps) coolest factional perk for the initial release of Star Wars Galaxies. As we've mentioned in the past, players can sign up with the Rebellion or the Empire as part of our PvP system. As they do missions or kill targets of the opposing side, they acquire faction points. Faction points can be spent on a variety of perks. Among the perks are equipment and armor (including Stormtrooper armor), "hireling" soldiers that can be checked out and commanded, military uniforms with rank insignia, the ranks themselves, and the ability to place factional HQs. These headquarter structures come in multiple sizes, and each upgrade level offers facilities such as hospitals, mission terminals, recruiters, and so on. Players trade faction points in for deeds to these special installations. It does count against their total “lot” number. Best of all, they can be attacked and destroyed by members of the opposite faction.
