amishler
I was just browsing the LucasArts site, and it looks like they're going to be at Comic-Con in San Diego this year. It appears to be mostly a Star-Wars based appearance, with hands-on demos of Galaxies, KotOR, Jedi Academy and Rebel Strike, as well as presentations by various LA producers during panel discussions. But on Saturday, Mike Stemmle will be a panel member in a discussion with the topic "Pencils vs. Polygons." Sounds interesting.
remixor
Nice! Since I'm back home in San Diego for the summer and was planning on going to Comic-Con anyway, this should be worth checking out. I'll be sure to stop by their booth. I'm not really too interested in any of their Star Wars products, but I suppose that at a comic convention it makes the most sense to push Star Wars stuff. DustCropper
I'm moving to southern California in August, which means I'll miss it! How annoying!

Normally I'd share your disinterest in Star Wars games, but I'm foaming at the mouth for Knights of the Old Republic, which is being shown at Comic-Con and is coming out for Xbox this month. It's an RPG developed by Bioware (Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Knights), and it takes place 4,000 years before the events of Episode I. A new GameSpy preview says it has a better story and dialog than anything found in the last two SW movies, though that's not saying much. Anyway, the bottom line is that I'm very excited about this game, more than I've ever been for a Star Wars game. Hopefully it'll go gold sometime this week, and I can really start bouncing off the walls.
twifkak
What, does Steve Purcell have his own booth, or are they just too busy putting him through the LucasArts Torture Chamber? (It's in the attic, Jake.)
Jake
I think Steve Purcell might be going on his own time either to promote Sam & Max in general or just to hang out, but last I heard he wasn't entirely sure if he'd be making the trip this year. Remember, he works for Pixar, not LucasArts, and is just consulting on the Sam & Max game. Hopefully Stemmle will be around outside the pencils vs polygons discussion so we can beat some Sam & Max 2 info out of him. Anyone besides Metallus and Jake going to be at the con?
