Kain
of course one should never let others tell them what is good and what is bad. Personally, I hated Triple X, but everyone said 'IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!! WOW!!!!!' The only way to tell if a movie sucks or not is to go see it! Thats why critics are all idiots

Kane Carver
Man, Arnold is getting too old. If there is another movie, he's going to be sitting in a wheelchair trying to terminate people with his cane.

toms
Originally posted by Eldritch I had no idea this was a comic. I thought this was just a bunch of literary characters that had been brought together to do some stuff. I doubt that the comic could be less lame than the movie, though. apparently the comic is pretty clever, with clever references to the source material (unlike the guy who wrote the movie who obviously hasn't read any of them), but they have majorly changed it for the movie. Dorian gray (the imortal with the self repairing shirts ) wasn't in the book, miss harker dressed and acted more like a 18th century woman than a dominatrix, and wasn't a vampire (or at least they haven't revealed it yet) (a vampire who checks her makup in the mirror ) captain nemo wasn't a martial art expert (giggle) and the plot sounds much more interesting.... instead of some Fantom supervillain, they are caught up in a power struggle between Moriarty and Fu Man Chu (cool! ) oh, and they didn't have a giant submarine that seemed to fit into the canals of venice (ok, i like bad mindless films, but this is starting to get silly) or could get from venice to mongolia via the northern route.... ... oh, and no TOM SAWYER, SECRET AGENT for the american audience who obviously couldn't handle not having an american in the league... give me a break! Wouldn't he be about 65 by then? Not the First, but definately seems to be the worst case of A MOVIE DUMBING DOWN A COMIC BOOK... no wonder the general public thinks comic books are dumb. Kane Carver
An hour and forty minutes? Seemed longer to me, I guess movie makers are running out of funds. A good example of this would be Jurassic Park III, resonably good story line, but it was too damn short, which was most likely caused by low funds. C Shutt
Originally posted by Eldritch I doubt that the comic could be less lame than the movie, though. The comic is excellent. Alan Moore is incapable of writing a bad comic. Hollywood, on the other hand, is more than capable of turning his comics into hideous movies. From Hell scared me off this one from the get go.
