Leviathen
I've gotten into the 102 classes, and I'm having problems with the entity window. I want to make my "misc_model" into the a bench in bespin, so I follow his instructions, and it is still known as "misc_model". I am afraid I don't understand exactly how to use this entity window, because my light values never change even if I try changing them, following the instructions given. Could someone help me? Leslie Judge
You have to have the misc_model selected when opening the entity window. Now at the bottom you can see two edit fields: KEy and Value. Enter "model" for the Key and the "models/map_objects..." (what you see in the tutorial) for the Value. Without the quotes of course. For the lights it is the same method. You have to enter "light" for the key and something other than 300 for the value to change the radius of the lights.
wedge2211
Originally posted by Leviathen I follow his instructions, and it is still known as "misc_model". The entity itself is still labeled a misc_model, yes. This is OK. What you SHOULD see happen is that the entity will change shape from the little box to a wireframe of the model you entered. If it doesn't, check your entity view mode (ie, "skinned and boxed" is what I use, it means that the model shows up as it would in-game but also has a bounding box visible). Leviathen
Yeah, see, I do use the skinned and boxed, and NOTHING happens. And when I switch from the entity window from the model to the light, the info for the model is on the light entity info!
wedge2211
Try changing to just "skinned" or one of the other options. Can you paste up here was appears under the misc_model entity? All the keys and values that it shows in the entity window? Whenever you open the entity window for anything, the last key and value entered appear in the "key" and "value" fields...but they don't affect anything till you hit ENTER in the value field and the key/value appear in the box above. So as long as there's no "model models/map_objects/..." below the "classname light," you're OK. It just remembers the last thing you entered. Emon
Models are only drawn in GtkRadiant, not JK2Radiant. And if they ever were, it was buggy, because I never saw them...

Leviathen
Ok, this is funny, but I wasn't hitting enter...I lose common sense sometimes. Problem solved.
