boinga1
Will there be any differences in PC and X-box versions? Besides different controls, or course, and such...will there be anything extra in the PC release? Will PC version also include the same downloadable content as X-box Live? I know little has been said of the PC release, but I'm just curious as to what you may have heard about it.
Swat
Regarding downloadable content, here's the official answer right from the PC forums Sorry, but a decision on this hasn't been made at this time. Other differences would be of course the graphics and the number of CDs

Lord Glorfindel
Well MGS2 did okily doke on DVD format and I have no problem with the possibility of KOTOR being on DVD, one disc means more space for the user to put other games, and DVD means no putting in a new CD when you warp to a different planet, and DVD rom drives aren't a wallet killer like they used to be, you can get a decent DVD rom drive for about fifty or less bucks
boinga1
Whoah, there... Asumming there are 4 disks, it'd be, like, 3 install disks and a play disk, right? Or would it be like, one install disks and 3 play disks? I might have to get a DVD-ROM if it's gonna be, "Please insert disk 2 into drive D:" to go to Korriban, then "Please insert disk 4 into drive D:" to go to, whererever, Kashyyk. Miko Reglia
well the experience i have had with multiple discs was with baulder's gate. all it was, was when you reached to a certain point, or like a certain break in the story, youd have to continue onto the next disc. and remember, bioware helped develop that too, so we might be seeing similar results. Zargon
wait wait wait, are you telling me that my athlon 2400 will run the game better than my xbox that has 3 year old hardware in it?? NO WAY ! I am sure that whatever downloadable content has been released before the PC version, will be included in teh PC version, I mean, why not? Especially if you are doing 4 discs already, wahts one more

NO WAY ! That assumption is not necessarily right. Your pc is much slower than it could be due to a lot of drivers, middleware and compability issues. A Xbox on the other side has an integrated direct x/ driver structure, and thus is a lot faster than some theoretically faster pc setups.
Zargon
CPU: Intel Pentium III 733MHz processor with Streaming SIMD Extensions Graphics Processing Unit: 233MHz custom 3D graphics processor by nVidia 300 million micropolygons/particles per second 150 million transformed and lit polygons per second 100+ million polygons per second sustained performance (shading, texturing) 4 simultaneous textures Compressed textures available at 8:1 compression Full-scene anti-aliasing Memory: 64 MB of RAM (unified memory architecture) 6.4GB/sec memory bandwidth Storage: 8GB hard drive 4X DVD drive with movie playback 8MB memory card Sound: Custom 3-D audio processor 64 Audio channels 3-D Audio support Midi/DLS2 support AC3 encoded game audio Network: 100 MBPS Ethernet Port Optional Modem Input/Output: 4 game USB controller ports Expansion port Proprietary A/V connector It probably will smoke some 1 GHZ machines playing similair games, but I just plain have more bandwitdh available to me then it does. Too bad it doesn't say what the Bus speed is........ It is pretty impressive, especially for a console. But its 3 years old...........its better than my P3 600 server machine tho, minus the missing 130 gigs of HD space.....
LegacyoftheFett
lol. What am i the only one that plays this on xbox? So far the game has been great only drawback is that you dont actually get to control the fighting which would make the game a little bit more better than it is. Any how at sometimes when you are talking to some of the npc they glitch a bit but only for a second. The only problem i had so far was that gam froze once when i was talking to this character in the hunters den. And the characters are basically the same ones other and other again but just given a different name. Must be a small universe eh? lol
Zargon
I have it on XBox, I wasn't about to wait for it on PC. as for the combat.............thats how these games go, it wouldnt really be an RPG if it was live combat......it would just be diablo
Com Raven
Well even Diablo II combat is stats-based to some degree
Frosty_V2.1
Since BGII they had options to do a "full install" with a Play disc so that should speed things along since most of the stuff will come off your hard drive. I think BG - TotSC expansion might have made it(BG) "Play disc-ised". Anyway, gotta love hot keys and quick slots and such

Frosty_V2.1
I don't know about you, but for me, scrolling is the enemy, or going through menus more than I have to Haven't played the XB ver so I'll take your word for it You've gotto admit, the quick bars/and/or hotkeys, of NWN were handy. Com Raven
Sure, NWN's system was very elegant, but so is Knight's imho
