DomStLeger
The fourth Broken Sword Developer diary was released a few weeks back at C&VG (not sure if its already been mentioned in the forums). Well worth the read, and a funny ending. Charles Cecil also talks about the new Nico, and how she accidently got the part... Anyway, diary 4 includes two voice samples! They're both of Rolf Saxon, and he sounds as good as ever. Also, Broken Sword 3 is going to be shown off at ECTS in London and GC in germany this month by THQ. Hopefully this means the official website will be launched soon too, fingers crossed. P.S. If you haven't read the other 3 diaries just follow these links: Diary 1 Diary 2 Diary 3 Diary
Pappa
Hey, wonderful to get to hear a few voice samples. And they sound great, to boot. I don't know if it's possible for me to want this game any more than I already do. This is not healthy.
Homoludens
Sounds good. Dom, you forgot to mention that C&VG requires free registration to access some of the files.
theneb
I've registered about four times, I really do hate their system. Another Diary should be along soon. EDIT: Just found out that Broken Sword 3 #17 Preorder @ Gameplay. I can't believe it! BS3 is so high up in this chart! It's even beat Doom 3 preorders. DomStLeger
Oh I hadn't realised. Everyone can just use my old PCZone account if they like, still works (no signing in or anything) http://www.pczone.co.uk/Dstleger/
Homoludens
When recording the voices for a videogame, many voice directors choose to record the lines of each character sequentially, which means that the actors don't get the opportunity to act together. Obviously this saves money because actors spend less time in the studio. However, because the relationship between the characters is so important in a game like Broken Sword, we have always felt it vital to have the scenes played with all the relevant actors together. Therefore, we record the voices much like one would a radio play with the actors acting scenes against each other. This allows the actors to really get into their parts, often getting highly animated with body gesticulations to support their speech. Damn, this is so true. deadworm222
LOL! They got the giggles for 10 minutes at one point. Although what's funny about the lines: "Hey Nico, come and hold this, whilst I shove the rod in" and her reply of: "I'm not going to stand here holding it all day" I will never know.
