BigTeddyPaul
I came home about 3 hours ago and my mother says something is wrong with our computer. I have absolutely no idea what happened. I left for school at 5 and got back at 10 PM and she was complaining. Is this that stinking worm? My computer has a hard time loading windows and keeps scanning like my NTFS disks or something. It has three of them and there are some applications or something that aren't working properly. Anyone have any idea what I can do. I am not a real tech man and I have no idea where to go especially since my internet and computer are going like a snail. BigTeddyPaul
Sivy
bring up the task manager in windows by pressing ctrl, alt & del if there is an application running called 'msblast' or something like that then yes, you have the worm. if you don't see that you should still run an anti-virus program anyway cause it sounds like you may have a virus of some sort if not ms blast. also check the recycle bin just in case someone has deleted something by mistake. if you can find out what applications aren't working properly then you can just re-install them. BigTeddyPaul
no blast thing in my processes or applications. I am currently running a virus scan. I don't have time for this. I have to get up in 4 hours to go back to school. Night all and hopefully I will have a better tomorrow. BigTeddyPaul
GUNNER
Doh, sounds like you got problems. Might need to defrag. At least that would be any easy try.
BigTeddyPaul
Here is some new information: I brought it up right now and I got this: Digistream.exe Error: C:WINNT/system32/wbem/repository/FS/INDEX.max (<--- I think it is max. My handwriting is horrible) is corrupt/unreadable. Please run a chkdsk utility scan. I believe I have done that and I think I get these $130 files are corrupted on three disks or something like that. I will run it again and write everything down. BigTeddyPaul
