  1. I'm sure the people who are doing this right now will regret it later after having played the actual game. Or they won't and they'll just have to deal with the fact that this is the game Ron wanted to make. I'm glad they didn't announce the game earlier and waited until development was close to be finished to drop a trailer. I wouldn't have wanted this kind of behavior to alter the look of the game and Ron's vision.
  2. Oh my gosh! I actually wanted to make one for the Grim Fandango remaster too! The Hit the Road one is my first attempt (because Sam and Max is the first thing I gravitated towards initially) and I started it a good while ago, like 8 months ago I think? I had to take a break from it when I hit the roadblock of the background map, plus I had to go abroad for an end of studies internship in January so this kind of took priority hahaha. I wanted to see how the process of making the box would go before starting any other box. I am still abroad right now and don't have my tablet with me, I'll have to pick that project back up in August when I return so I don't think opening a thread right now would do anything haha! However, when I get back to doing this, I'd love to document the process of actually putting the box together so maybe I'll ask if I can make a thread about it when I get to that! If the process goes well and the boxes look good enough, I was thinking of making them for other lucasarts or non lucasarts games (I want to make one for the Neverhood because I feel like it) and making them available for anyone to download and print out at home as papercraft projects (I, for one want to make a tiny version for my Sam and Max figures to hold in their hands) or to make their own reproductions (for people like me who can't afford to buy a legitimate one off of ebay or even those whose boxes are damaged and can't be displayed). Sorry for the ramble... TL; DR; I'd love to make reproduction boxes for more games and I'd love to make them available for everyone to print out at home.
  3. No idea what this is a reference to but I got it! 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 💚🖤🖤🖤🖤 💚🖤🖤🖤🖤 💚💚💚🖤💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  4. OH MY GOSH!!! You guys are my heroes!! How did you find something so similar so fast!!! @Crumb Thank you so much for the detective work!! Well, the reason I need it is because I'm too young to have been around back in the lucasarts days and boxed copies of these games are just too expensive for me to purchase, so I wanted to make reproduction boxes for myself (like those people who make prototype boxes for their board games) just so I could have them on my shelf, I recreated a lot of the Hit the Road Box text and assets myself (outdated gifs from the very begining) : But the background (although it WOULD be possible to remake it myself) would take too much time to recreate and would probably not be as good as if I just used the actual one... VERY selfish reason to want this map, I know.....
  5. See, I thought the same thing but I just couldn't find the exact same map with the same colors, highway signs and points of interests anywhere. 😔
  6. Heh heh heh... my brain is rotten... 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 2/6 🖤🖤💚🖤💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  7. Darn it! Well, it was worth a try anyway! Thank you very much for the reply!
  8. I love this thread, I've been lurking for a long long while. Today's the day I finally ask the question I've been meaning to for like... months. @LaserschwertYou seem to be THE biggest brain in terms of box art assets used in Lucasarts games. I was wondering if you had any idea where one could find this map texture used for the Hit the Road box and manuals (scan found on mobygames.com): I know it has got to be a full map because it's also in the background of this promotional picture here : It's okay if you don't know but I thought I might as well give it a shot, you seem to be the expert in the topic. Do tell me if this is intrusive, I'll gladly delete this post if it diverts the conversation from its original topic.
  9. Oh yes I have, and I love them but there is a difference between action fgures and a figure that was made to have a specific pose and expression, to me at least. I guess I just want a chance to get a cool thing like the Symbiote figure from 2012, it's got such cool poses and has so much personality, if I had known what the internet or money even was when it came out I would have totally bought it without hesitation, my biggest regret in life is not having been born 20 years earlier lol. It's pretty impossible to get nowadays (unless you want to pay more than $1000 on ebay for it). I know it's a pretty selfish reason though, most people would probably be satisfied with the boss fight action figures.
  10. The season 3 box is honestly the one I'm the most looking forward to because they don't have a case file to base it on this time so it'll most likely a brand new set of case file goodies! I like seeing people on the Sam and Max discord server talk and speculate sometimes on what the collectors will have, I'd personally be very happy with owning the soundtrack physically so that is one of my top most wanted things for it (I have the first 2 so I gotta get that 3rd one to let my collector brain rest). A figure would also be REALLY cool but those are harder to produce/doesn't really align with the whole "souvenirs from each episode" theme that the other case files have, so I know it's way less likely to happen. I'm probably gonna be weak of heart and buy The Devil's Playhouse Remastered digitally on the day of its release but whatever the collectors edition has, I'll still buy it, I just know it's something I'll want to spend my hard earned money on, Skunkape Games doesn't disapoint.
  11. I'm very very excited to get this!! I had to restrain myself from buying the game digitally when it came out specifically because I knew I'd want to get my greasy little cheeto dust covered hands on this collectors edition and it did not disapoint!! LOVE the box, LOVE the banang sticker and I especially love that the card that you would originally recieve randomly out of 6 possible ones has been replaced with the whole set of 6 time cards! I'm constantly amazed with how Skunkape Games knows how to spoil the fans and how to make the new ones included. 💛 It truly feels like a chance for those who were not here for the original case files releases to catch up with the older fans who were there during the early telltale days. I cannot wait to receive it (hopefully) around christmas and experience this remaster with all of these goodies with me! Now to wait for the third one hehehe 😈
  12. It doesn't happen very often but I do fall guilty to using hint books whenever I'm really really stuck on a puzzle (like, multiple days stuck). I like to use UHS though to only get pushed in the right direction rather than being given the answer directly. I do appreciate the kind of hint system that doesn't ruin the "aha!" moment so I hope it'll be subtle hints instead of just giving away the solution. And I do it mostly just cuz I don't want to stay stuck on something for too long, especially since I don't have a lot of free time to play videogames so if I stay stuck on a puzzle for multiple days it's kind of frustrating to not see any progress happen y'know? I had to use a hint for the "if this is (number), then what is this" riddle in Monkey 2... I felt very stupid afterwards haha
  13. Aw man, I almost forgot we can't have nice things with Disney....
  14. I would be extremely open to this being the last official monkey island and entering an age of fan games!! Having only recently gotten into point and click games a year ago, I've really really started to think about maybe making a fan game myself at some point once I'm out of games to play so I can easily imagine a lot of people may have had that same itch over the long wait for a new MI game.
  15. I'm personally gonna be fine with any story he wants to tell with this game, I'm mostly curious about what Guybrush, LeChuck and Elaine are going to look like! I can't wait to see their design in this new artstyle!! Also I would really really really love it if the cover art/box art for the game was made by Steve Purcell... please. 🙏
  16. This! Plus, I feel like expectations with the fabled Monkey island 3 have been raised so high for so long that some people will probably be disapointed with it anyway, even if Ron Gilbert was in absolute and complete control of it. I've heard so many times in interviews that if he were to make a new Monkey Island, it wouldn't be the Monkey Island 3 he would have made back then. I personally enjoy the dynamic between Elaine and Guybrush in Tales a lot but I wouldn't be opposed at an "alternate timeline" situation where Curse never happened and their marriage didn't either. I'm just really happy to see that these games are still loved to this day, I recently played them all (except 4 because I just couldn't figure out the controls...) and I am so happy that I'll get to play one right as it releases... so happy to be excited about a classic adventure game releasing in the year 2022!
