  2. I hope if there'll be an option to have the mouseover text voiced, by Armato or a computer voice, for accessibility reasons.
  3. The little animation Guybrush does when he says "I'm here to talk to the pirate leaders" is so good. I'm wondering if that's a bespoke animation for that moment or if it's just pulling from a library of animations he has. Either way it fits the dialogue perfectly.
  4. We've got a new image from Devolver promoting the thing tomorrow. Nothing new but it's interesting that: A. The background has been changed slightly. Some color correction, additional lighting on the mast, and some beautiful new subsurface-scattering-esque red glows on the hull of the ship. B. Finally, true confirmation that the silhouette is indeed a zombie chef. I'm guessing they kept it out of the original trailer purely to mess with us 😛
  5. That scumm bar music is just incredible. I’m hoping the context sensitive interactions give us more than 1 option for what to do with some things but I love the idea of what they’ve done

  7. My guess is that if there is anything beyond monkey island, brr muda and terror island, it’s gonna be endgame sorts of stuff and maybe not as significant as the other places. Idk, this game just doesn’t strike me as being *way* huger than any of the previous games. And I doubt Ron would want to drag it out longer than it needs to be.
  8. I think this might be the first time we’ve seen Guybrush’s walking (as opposed to running) animation, and it’s looking really nice!

Ron is OK with the game being referred to as "Monkey6." 2. His abbreviation for the game is RTMI, not ReMI Just thought that was interesting 😛

To add to the point of this form not being an echo chamber - when the trailer came out, I mentioned that I felt like the animation was a bit stiff and that I would have done it differently (a stance that I mostly disagree with now, but that’s beside the point). Rather than bullying me into submission, some people here agreed with me, and others brought up valid counter arguments, which showed me a different perspective. That was awesome and totally non-toxic.
  14. Maybe Ron secretly has the release date announcement set to trigger when someone asks him for it the number of times it takes for the navigator head to give you the necklace.

When I played through SoMI again recently, I noticed that one of the boats Stan can talk about is a viking boat, and he has this to say about it: She comes from a land far to the North, where the sea is as unforgiving as the men are tough and-- --hey, you wouldn't happen to be from there would you? You just seem to have a sort of Nordic quality about you^ Idk, could that be what Brr Muda is?

  19. Something about the Judge's angry hammer slamming animation reminds me of LittleBigPlanet. Feels very puppety in a good way In thimbleweed park you could turn off the wobble if you went into the prefs.json file, so I'd assume the same is true here

  21. The walking up stairs animation is blowing my mind a little. Idk why they took the time to make his steps actually match each stair, but they did! Actually is this the first stair-walking animation? I feel like previous games would have just had guybrush walk diagonally upwards with stairs.
  22. lol, wasn't there some guy who got mad at Double Fine for adding in a pixel filter to Broken Age as a fun little thing rather than taking the time to make pixel art backgrounds and sprites for every character?
  23. It seems like somehow Twitter has been a more positive forum than Ron's own blog comments. Like even in the worst of it I feel like there were way fewer mean comments on Twitter. Which doesn't make sense to me but whatever 😛
  24. On the music thing, I think, because A. Ron said the music was recorded live (which I know doesn’t mean the entire thing will be, but at least a good enough chunk of it must have been for him to say that), B. This is a small ensemble track, which is the exact sort of thing I think we were expecting to be live instruments, and C. The flute definitely sounds like it could be real, I would hazard a guess and say that the flute is probably real. But yeah, the fact that we can’t really tell whether or not it’s real just from listening to it means that it doesn’t really matter; it sounds GOOD and has lots of character, and that’s what counts.
