It'll probably get here on monday... (that's how long my other Lucasarts purchases have taken with the shipping that I selected)

Valo Posted September 13, 2003 Posted September 13, 2003 stores arent able to put them out before release date becuase they could recieve a huge fine, if the company got wind of it the store could lose their right to sell any other games from that company. i used to work at best buy, and if that did happen it would cost about $5,000 for every copy that was out.

ZigZag Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 are u sure it has shipped? i checked my preorder status @ lucas arts and it said it has shipped. but when i try to track it with ups it just says "cannot track so and so tracking number" i did, however, get a confirmation email from lucas arts saying they got my order request.

I even have the order number, but for some reason I haven't received any e-mail saying it shipped. Still haven't been able to log into the order status section of their site for some reason.
mccartney Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Iv'e never seen Best Buy get any new release games before Electronics Boutique, so it should be awfully rare for a Best Buy to get fined for breaking street dates, I think Best Buy makes up their own street dates, usually 2-4 days after EB
cheapherk Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Called Lucas Arts today. They said my order was shipped on the 12th via UPS Next Day Air. They said I should receive it today(Monday), but I did not. UPS has no record of it according to the tracking number Lucas Arts gave me- blah!!!
JediNyt Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 I just called LA and they said that most orders were shipped today the 15th. Mine was shipped on the 12th and they said that if I didnt have it by tomorrow I should call them back. So far it doesnt look like anyone got it today.

Actually, for stores like GameStop and Electronics Boutique, they arrange for a special contract that allows them to distribute the game to RESERVED/Pre-Ordered copies a day before the retail release. But for all other individuals who didn't place a pre-order or reserve it, they have to wait until at LEAST the 17th to get their copy.
