Darth Eggplant
BT or Bit Torment (I know Torrent) but for me being a silly vegetable it's been a torment. I hear good things about it, I cant make it work. I remeber the first time I tried, I downloaded and all and then tried to get a BT thing, but it did not do anyhting, ever, I was informed sometimes you had to wait, well I waited off and on for 4 days and not a nibble in the old cyber fish pond, so that was the end of BT take 1. Next just 2 days ago I tried again, this time I got action really fast, I was also amazed at how quick, even at 56k the download was. (I also had been told to let connection stay open longer after download was complete, so I did, However all I got was the audio part of a video equation. so I just dont know. *and I guess BT is sort of like the "K" word, if I am overstepping protocols of the LF, I appologize in advance and won't have a hissy fit if this thread is closed.* I am just sort of expressing my adventures in cyberland.*
Darth Eggplant
I found a Yahoo BT group so if mods want to close this cool. again sorry don't want to flaunt rules just asking, that's all.
toms
i've seen a fair number of legal uses of BT out there, so i don't know why they would close this thread. The makers of BT seem to me marketing it as a legal method of minimising bandwidth problems for large files. And with Steam and others it seems like file-sharing programs are begining to enter the mainstream. Soon the whole interent will be one huge open network. leXX
We don't have a problem with people discussing p2p programs. We only have a problem with discussion about downloading illegal content.
Darth Eggplant
well my adventures in BTing BitTorrenting are over. I have this thing about programs\applications which freeze my computer while online with nasty pop up boxes which won't shut or allow you to do anything but hard reboot. WinMX WAS good, but turned into to crap. Most of the P2P sites have turned to crap as well. Yes, part of my uninstalling of such programs have been due to legal scares, but also equally, that you just cannot find anything out there anymore.
