nycgamer Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 …and of the ones you’ve played, which ones do you think are the best for online multiplayer gaming? So far I’ve only played three ~ Halo, TRON 2.0, and RTCW. They’re all fun in different ways so I have no complaints. I had a couple of gripes for TRON multiplayer, but they’ve already eliminated just about every problem with the upgrade patches and they’ve got more on the way (if only ALL developers were so quick to fix problems…). To log into gamespy arcade, one would think that Halo is the only online game anyone ever plays… so it would be nice to see people talk about other online games you play.
nycgamer Posted October 28, 2003 Author Posted October 28, 2003 BTW, if anyone has gotten past the second or third level where you have to jump up to the next hallway in the corrupted sector, I could use a helpful hint or two. Kinda stuck there. Need to move on so I can see some of the levels still to come, such as the central hub ~ can't wait to get there;
Wraith 8 Posted October 29, 2003 Posted October 29, 2003 I have played the following games online: Command and Conquer Tiberian sun Delta Force Delta force 2 Delta force landwarrior Delta Force Task Force Dagger Delta Force Black Hawk Down X-wing Alliance Star Wars Galaxies so far Black Hawk down was the most awesome i love sniping
nycgamer Posted October 30, 2003 Author Posted October 30, 2003 Is Blackhawk Down on PC? If you're playing games on PC, you should download the TRON 2.0 demo (http://www.tron20.net). It really is a beautiful game. I love military shooters, so if Blackhawk Down is really good and on Xbox or PC, I'll definitely give it a try, despite the fact that I already have about 20 unfinished games across the four platforms! (another lovely TRON pic; )
op087 Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 the best online game by far was Rogue Spear. I played that game for 3 years, i just couldent stop playing. I'm stuck with old online games like Rogue Spear and Star Craft untill i get a computer that can handle all these graphics. Battlefield 1942 looks amazing and so does every new game compared to my ancient PC games.
Jan Gaarni Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Games I've played online: In no particulary order Star Wars X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter Star Wars X-Wing Alliance Star Wars Rebellion (Supremacy) Star Wars Force Commander Star Wars Jedi Knight Star Wars Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast Delta Force 2 Delta Force - Land Warrior Delta Force - Blackhawk Down Unreal Tournament Doom Medal of Honor - Allied Assault Homeworld Homeworld - Cataclysm Homeworld 2 Age of Empires Age of Empire - Conquerers Operation Flashpoint Day of Defeat (Half-Life mod) Some kind of Counter Strike like mod for Unreal Tournament Eurofighter 2000 (I think it was) Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 Command & Conquer (or was this an online feature to it? Soromonu Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 I've not played as many as you all - I was really into console games for the past 16 years now..I started out with Asherson's Call 1, and played that till I got bored and then switched over to Everquest..but I did not like it and stopped..I have SWG but have not had the time to play
Jo Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 You all need to pull Black Hawk Down out..ill put it back on my comp..we can have a Black Hawk Down-Galaxies Party
Jan Gaarni Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 I don't like Delta Force any more. It was great in the beginning, watch out for my sniper fire. But I got tired of the choppyness. Got tired of it as early as in Delta Force 2. (never played 1 ) Homeworld (with Star Wars Mod) Yeah, that kicked ass, but it was very unstable for me on single player.
swphreak Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 Originally posted by Jan Gaarni Yeah, that kicked ass, but it was very unstable for me on single player. I didn't have much problems with it. Just some Pthfinding troubles. i can't wait til someone finally does Homeworld 2. They can add the Super Star Destroyer now! Also, I forgot one game: Star Trek Armada 2 (with Star Wars Mod).

Err, I don't think they should try that. At 17 km lenghts that's a pretty huge vessel. But I foget, how big are the maps again? Maybe there is room for it?
Wraith 8 Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 sure jo.. i play it online lately during dowtimes i suck.. i used to be awesome

I just what my sweet, sweet Star Destroyer action.
Jan Gaarni Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 I checked how large the Death Star would be, and it would cover the arena. But it would fit. Well, the first anyway, the second is kinda big.
Eurofighter Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Originally posted by Jan Gaarni Games I've played online: ... Eurofighter 2000 (I think it was) ... This jus HAS to be an awesome game I myself have played and are still playing: Diablo2/LOD Firearms (HL mod) The Specialists (HL mod) SWG (my first MMO) and some others that i cant remember

Jan Gaarni Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Yes, of course, but it just wouldn't be the same. And if they rescaled everything we wouldn't be able to see the fighters. Hell, we wouldn't be able to see most of the frigate classes.
swphreak Posted November 20, 2003 Posted November 20, 2003 woot I can't wait. Also, I discovered this sexy thing for CnC: Generals: Zero Hour which I can't wait til the finish it.
Jan Gaarni Posted November 20, 2003 Posted November 20, 2003 Hey, StarWarsPhreak, you have any idea how to make a badge for HomeWorld II? I can't figure it out.
Sounds Risky Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 My avatar is my Homeworld2 badge You just need to make a 64x64 32bit Targa image. Then place that in your Homeworld2\Bin\Profiles\Badges folder.
Jan Gaarni Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 I have made it a targa 32-bit 64x64 pixel badge, AND placed it in the right directory, uncompressed. I've even tried to save it as a 24bit targa file, no luck. So I don't understand how people are doing it really.
