Yufster Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 I was just thinking. Do you realize the odds of some members of this community, or AGS, are likely to meet in the future? Many of us are around the same age and interested in gaming, design, art or programming. A lot of us want to move to San Francisco. The chances are we'll be trying to get jobs in the gaming industry. For instance, Orca and Andy and I. All interesting in game design and San Francisco. Now, San Francisco is a large place, but there's only a certain number of game developers or publishers, so the chances are we would meet at one stage. I thought I would mention this, because it'll be fun to muse over. I mean I'm pretty sure that some stage in our lives, Andy and I will cross paths, whether as rivals or best friends. When you think about it, many communities on the internet focus more on the gaming aspect of gaming. This community and AGS hold some very rare qualities in that we are mostly young, devoted to game development and have experience in amateur game developing. So basically this thread is for people who have similar aspiration. Post them here! Like this: I want to graduate from Ballyfermot and move to San Francisco to work in computer animation preferably in LucasArts or Double fine. Dude. I will see you there.
Reaper Girl Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 If i ever meet you in real life, Yuffy, I'd most likely be your rival. I plan to graduate Our Lady of Mercy, go to collegde in California. Hey, Guybrush, or should I say, CHRIS...i still have to stalk you! PS You'd probably reconize me cause Orca WaiL is my pen name and painter name. Joy
RoyTordesLegend Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 ....more likely is that we'll walk right past each other without ever knowing....... ....apart from if I ever see Ray that is.......I'd imagine his pantie obsessed general all round madness would somehow draw me to notice him
Yufster Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 We should all wear name tags when we graduate, with our internet nicknames on them instead of our real names.
RicardoLuigi... Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 actually...i though about that before...i mean what if we all wound up in the same place in some bizarro, freak, weirdo thing, and then we all met each other.... that'd be freaky. anyway...i plan to just graduate from my high school, glenbard south, and then go to college somewhere, i honestly don't care where, and then move to chicago, i live about 25 miles away, but i like the city more than the suburbs. or i'd move to new york city, i think that'd be cool. i don't where....maybe manhattan? or queens...who knows. or i might even move to san fransisco, even though it's in california, and i don't want to just be sitting at home one day and then the state i live in falls off of the united states. wasn't it supposed to have drifted off by now anyway? hmm... well, that's my tentative life-year plan...i seriously doubt anything will go the way i want it to, but whatever.
Yufster Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 SERIOUSLY?! Does that mean San Francisco can become an independant country!?? Wow! We'll have to make sure we get the Silicon Valley and Double Fine on OUR side!
Alia Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 I posted the "short" version in some other thread. Oddly enough, I think it was Mr.Burger's welcome thread. What was I drinking thinking? Well, Yuf and Orca and I could be the great Artist Trio of San Francisco. Provided that we are great. Otherwise we could be the Mediocre Artist Trio....but no, that doesn't sound quite as good. And we can hire Ernil and Mr.Burger to entertain the fantastic staff parties we'll have. Or maybe they'll already be playing on the street outside of Doublefine, because they realize that that is the place to be. May we all be enlightened thus!
RicardoLuigi... Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 SERIOUSLY?! Does that mean San Francisco can become an independant country!?? hmm...i dunno...maybe...good question.
Yufster Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 Das, I hate to break this to you, but I was only joking. It wouldn't become an independant country. Are you on illegal drugs or something?
Kjølen Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Yeah I know what you mean. I passed Fender on the street the other day. I waved to him and was like "Sup dude?" LOL no i'm kidding, but yeah, you're right. That's why we should all have LucasForum shirts on so if we see eachother we can ask who we are.
Ernil Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Knowing me, with my luck and all, I'd go through my whole life never seeing a one of you, and wearing my shirt every day. I'd be shunned for never showering, cleaning, or changing. I'd get picked on because I'm so devoted to an online forums. And I'd get no reward out of it. But it'll be worth it, just to get the chance to meet some of you guys.
Yufster Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 ESPECIALLY me, Andy and Orca. I mean like, TOTALLY us.
Ernil Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Especially you guys. All of my buds in the Monkey Island Lucas Forums - some day, we'll all end up meeting at one random place. It's gotta happen. I really want to meet "Mr.Burger." Even though I just saw him....15 minutes ago.
Alia Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 They could make a movie or a play about it! It would follow our lives from when we first posted in the forum up until when we all meet in San Francisco! And it could be called: "A Funny Thing Happened In The Forum!"
Yufster Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 And the sequel could be, "AFTTHOTF 2: What Happened when Nobody Commented on the Cutscene Graphics Yufster Just Posted about like An Hour Ago, you Meanie Heads." It's gonna be totally awesome!
RicardoLuigi... Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 okay, i'm a little late here in saying this...but i know you were joking...yufster... not much else to say.
NiKo Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 well, i want to move out of israel and move to the states, work in the animation/ adventure game buisness. plan B is work in the music industry...at least there you dont need talent to make it
RicardoLuigi... Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 plan B is work in the music industry...at least there you dont need talent to make it heeyy.... yeah, you're right.
Reaper Girl Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Orca, Andy, And Yufster.... ...UNSTOPPABLE!
Alia Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Or.... Orca, Andy, and Yufster... ...Only stopped by moving trains and brick walls and nothing else!
