lukeskywalker1
Well, me and a friend wanted to play a trial version of galactive battlegrounds online, but we were having trouble connecting to each others severs (prolly cause were both on 56k, its a small area) anyways, im just wondering can i still play normal online games without the zone or do i HAVE to use the zone. Im just wondering, i know its probably a stupid question, so you can lock the thread when i get an answere. Thanks!
ET Warrior
I suppose this depends on the game. Some games require a 3rd party server to connect people. while others offer the option of creating your own internet game and having people connect through your IP address. I know Age of Empires games allow direct IP connects, and Galactic battlegrounds PROBABLY has the same option

swphreak
You can direct IP for most games. Just create a MP server on the net and look up your IP, then give it to your friend.
topshot
Let's put it this way: You don't have to use "The Zone" for JO/JA, unless you want to.
lukeskywalker1
Ok, thanks, thats all i wanted to know. We tried the IP thing, but it didnt work... his ISP has a firewall.
topshot
Then play against him on The Zone. The catch is you have to host the game if you're goin' to play with your fire-walled friend.
leXX
I suggest you download the All Seeing Eye. It's a great little program and will work for most all of your internet games.
