Level 20 is the highest you can go...?!!!

i can see the point there. but they could have made the enemies more difficult if they wanted to. pump their stats more so to say.

and even if malak is the dark lord of the sith right now. they pointed out many, many times in the game that revan was always the more powerful of the two.

and since you are revan....you can logically conclude where this is going.

Ive just finished KOTOR my first time through and I have done every sidequest as far as I know - excluding the one(s) associated with winning the swoop races - and I have ended ep as lv12 consular, soldier 8 - pardon my ignorance but does that mean 20 in total ?? I fought anything and everything I could, and talked to pretty much all the npcs milking them for info and quests, why did I end up as only 12 seeing that 20 is the max ???

Thanks. Phew ! I really was trying to be super thorough in going through my first time...thus I was a bit perplexed at not being "20"...but it seems I was doing the right thing after all.....

I guess you can reach higher levels as a jedi, if early in the game, before you become a jedi, you save your points and thus dont level up as a soldier etc......

Level cap is 20. Definate. There's no XP needed thing once you reach level 20. I reached it in the temple on the star forge system planet. So I had loads of wasted xp after killing Malak and Bastila (I played the last level through again and saved her).

Its like NWN. Bioware made the level cap 20 and there was no way to get past it. Then they released HoTU, allowing you to go up to a 30 level cap. Hopefully they'll do the same for KOTOR.

Part of the fun of NWN was creating multiple different characters and playing them out in Multiplayer as opposed to simply restarting the single-player game with an "uber" character.

This isn't the case with KOTOR? I've been looking at this one and wondering for a good long while. All the similarities with NWN suggest I'll like it. If there's just nowhere to go and nothing to do like this thread seems to be saying, maybe I'll hold out for the "Gold" version with expansions or something.
