HO HO HO!!!! I come to yall with this thread on Christmas day to ask yall out there a important guestion do you think that the return of the king in the lord of the rings saga is going end up with more money racked up then EP3 becuse I heard from my cousins who love the lord of the rings saga told me how much money it got and it was freaking $14,000,000 which is insane when EP2 only got 6,000,000 plus four times more better reviews well I plan to go to the theaters today and see how good it is but to me it seems that EP3 is going have to do four times better than EP2 but dont get me wrong the lord of the rings the two towers alone had a bunch of huge action parts in it but he reason that I come to say this is becuse these two sagas to me are in close compation.:sprobe::darthx :darthx :darthx have a wonderfull evil holliday

Honestly, return of the king will make more money. Why? Because Star Wars has been done. The new ultra epic form of LotR has everyone by the shorthairs... while the prequal Star Wars movies are just an add on to a trilogy of old classics...

All 3 parts of the Lord of the Rings were written at the same time and meant to be one complete story.

For me, Star Wars will always have the creative edge against the LotR movies because what you see in SW has gone straight from Lucas' mind to the big screen. It's like if Tolkien himself had been able to direct Lord of the Rings himself with all of today's technology.

 

That said, Return is a breathtaking motion picture. It has its flaws, and I'm sure it won't please the Tolkien fanatics because of all of the cuts, but it's a good movie nonetheless. I think Lynk has it right, LotR has the same novelty factor that SW had when it was brand-spanking new... but it's a close call. This is quite possibly the last George Lucas Star Wars movie ever, and every SW fan worth his or her stripes will see it at least once.

 

But regardless, money isn't the only judge of a movie's full worth. Just remember this: Empire has made the least of all of the SW movies, and yet is hailed as the best.

i don't think return of the king can put up the numbers as ep3 will do but it will be good i mean return of the king is a great movie but star wars will always be better.
