AJL
1. What programs do you use ? (MAX R3, R4, R5, R6 ??) 2. Are there any other XSI (import/export) plugins available than those which came with the first Jedi Outcast editing tools... ?? 3. What settings should I use when I import and export ?? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seems that I CAN import Outcast XSI files which came with those tools, But I can't import any Academy XSI files, Custom files (files which come with models I download...), and I can't even import those files I export... Mercenary
Use 3ds max 4 or 5, a lot of plugins don't work for version 6. Go to this site for tutorials and links to plugins: http://www3.sympatico.ca/psykopat/
darthviper107
What about an XSI export plugin for 3ds Max 6 that works.
Psyk0Sith
Maybe this could help?: http://jedidreams.codealliance.ca/downloads/jo/util/max6_plugins.zip "includes: MD3 export GLM import XSI export"
OB1 KNOB
I tried the exporter for 3ds Max 6 in that batch and I couldn't get it to work. I did find this one though: The direct link for the export plugin is here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=40241&package_id=32639&release_id=205314 (Download the bin file) If that doesn't work you can go the long way: http://www.softimage.com/Connect/xsi/FreeConnections.htm Click on "dotXSI xchange for Max - Export" , then click on "dotXSI4max" (the name seemed a little deceiving to me, more like it was for max 4 and not 6 ). You'll want to download the "bin" file. I've tried that one out pretty extensively and it's always worked for me. Also, Softimage has released a free version of XSI for making models for the upcoming Half-Life II. It may also be capable of making models for JO/JA but I'm not very familiar with the program yet, so I'm not sure. It's a fairly large download though. It can be found on their site here.
