Kylilin
I think a militia is needed to defend the threat being made against our right to free speech in this country, as well ass kick Dubbya's sorry butt out of office come November.
Zoom Rabbit
Patience, dear. I think Bush's chances next fall are declining rapidly--even the republicans are starting to question the damage he's doing. Freedom of speech--still in place. Dr Edison 007
I don't see why Bush would want to win, I understand keeping Republican power, but they need to take a break and pull themselves together. Anyway, hows the election in Canada doing?
Nitro
Paul Martin and the Liberals can't be trusted. Stephen Harper and the Conservatives are either Americanists* or Nazis... I'm not sure which yet. Jack Layton and the NDP would be a decent choice, but they don't have the experience to run a country. And I can't even make a decicion based on local politics... The Conservatives, NDP, and Green parties all want to turn the lake that's literally in my backyard into a mudflat, so I can't vote for them, and since I can't bring myself to give a vote to Paul Martin, I can't vote Liberal either... I'm either not gonna vote, or I'm writing in Frank Zappa. *No offence is meant by that. You guys have a fine country down there... But Harper's trying to turn Canada into the 51st state, and if I wanted to live in the US, I'd move there... But I like my free health care, thankyouverymuch. Dr Edison 007
Hey, I like Canada. If I ever get so sick of this country and have to leave, it's the closest and best solution.

(Does this exchange remind you of Bush responding to the 9-11 commission's conclusions about the *ties* between Al Qaeda and Iraq...?) The Republican Party is still supportive of Bush. They always were, they always will be. Not only have I not seen any significant Republican opposition of Bush, but it doesn't even make sense that would be any, as it would only weaken their own positions. In conclusion, you must have smoked some bad granola.

Nitro
Originally posted by Dr Edison 007 Your conservatives aren't the same type of jackasses we have in the states, are they? Nope... All the parties are jackasses. Man, Canadian politics is all just shades of gray... Small "specialist" parties (like the Marxist-Leninist party and the Marijuana party) aside, everyone promises the same things with different words. With American politics, you've got your left, and you've got your right, and the party lines are pretty solid... Your politicians are kinda like fans at the Army/Navy football game. You're either Army or your Navy, and switching sides isn't a regular occurance. Canadian politicians are more like NHL free agents... They'll join whichever team they think has the best chance to win the cup, unless someone else offers them a ****load of money. And because of that, the Canadian political scene isn't left vs right, it's every man for himself.

Dr Edison 007
Originally posted by Zargon true, but no more than most liberals are Well, on most internet forums the conservatives act very stupid, Example: On most message boards I've been to when you bring up Fahrenheit 9/11 all the conservatives do is whine about how Moore is a liar instead of contributing anything intelligent to the discussion. Also, you see a lot more ignorant conservative TV personalities than you to liberal.

Nute Gunray
I generally consider everyone that isn't me to be an idiot. Mainly because I make a few wild claims and suddenly I'm an "authoritarian," "fascist," and, confusingly, a "communist." For the record, I'd be one of the Optimates if they were still a political party. Although, my assumed Roman name would probably lead me into trouble because they'd think I was related to Pompey (I adopted the name Sextus Aurelius Magnus Germanicus in the event I should ever travel through time). Yeah, I had a time machine in my refrigerator but I took it out because I thought that if kids saw it they would probably start trying to make their own refrigerator go back in time. And Zargon: I'm not saying he isn't a liar I just mean that the people against him should come up with better arguments.
