need help weighting and skinning a model

I have created a model for jedi academy(finally!). It is a model for my own star wars character that I made up, but anyone could use it as a Plo Koon ripoff model or a generic Kel Dor jedi model.

 

Actually its just a combination of a whole bunch of models, the main body of the cloak and the hood are from the Eerin Bant model, the sleeves are from the most recent plo koon model, the head and hands are from the in game kel dor model, and the belt and undertunics are from the Saesee Tinn and Shaak Ti models. I'm sorry if I didn't get permission to use these...

 

The problem is though, I can't really figure out how to weight, assemble, and all that other boring junk. I have looked at Psyk0sith's tutorials, but they loose me quite easily(no offense psyk0). So if anyone can help me weight it and skin it, fix anything on the model I may have done worng, and basicly get it in the game I would be most grateful.

If I were you I would get permision from the authors of the orginial models authors since you're using parts of their models. Once you did that then I would worry about how to weight it...

Yep I've read it a couple of times. Its at the assigning the tags from the root.xsi file part that i'm stuck on right now. On the root.xsi model I've imported the tags don't say bolt_l_leg_calf

for example, instead all I see are tags that say Davinci_Male01_TrueBones.l_d1_j2

So thats where I'm getting confused, I don't see anything on the .xsi file that says bolt anywhere.
