Dual Logging

How do I do it? I know theres a few of you with dual characters so how can I dual log?

You need Windows XP, and two windows accounts (I can't/don't want to go into the details). You load up SWG on one Windows account, then log to the other Windows account and log into SWG again. It works on XP because when you log out of an account it keeps all the programs running.

you dont even need windows xp technically. i did it without that method. but at the moment, i cant go into detail, as im on a laptop on my way home(in alabama) and ill be home tuesday morning or so, then ill post how to do it buddy. if you want to give it a shot, go to the official forums at http://www.starwarsgalaxies.com and in the tech support forums type "dual accounts on one pc" in the search, and you will get yourself some help

Create a text flie using notepad in your swg directory. Normally, in programfiles/starwarsgalaxies/

 

Name it user.cfg

 

Type these two lines in it:

 

[swgClient]

allowMultipleInstances=TRUE

 

That's it... Then you can alt+tab out and start the game twice...

 

I wouldn't recommend doing it though, as it can overload your processor if you haven't got a highly performing one.

i have run 2 accounts at once with minimum lag...that was in theed and mos eisley, and the krayt hunt i went on...that was because they were both loading the same crap at once, as they were at the same place. i have heard however, if you plan on doing fighting, pve or pvp, you should reboot and just boot up your combatant..but i did buff myself and then just logged of my second..did combat, and was fine. could be a bug, but who knows, good luck

Might need more ram for it to be fully stable, but that sounds fine.

"Might" isn't the right word, "must" is.

Atleast 1 gig total.

 

Other than that it should be fine. Can be alittle choppy at times, especially if one is loading, but should work fine enough if only you bump up your ram considerably.
