Snipers Rule

Hahah, finally, someone who understands! No matter what people say, its not Nooby, it is strategy! To be able to hide, remain un-seen, and pick off the wandering player with a well placed headshot takes time and practice. What people say about the sniper being to well equipped is stupid. The recon droid does barely any damage, so i dont really count that as a weapon. Ill be using it as a scout to find targets before they arrive with you unprepared. Being able to disguise yourself as a stormtrooper isnt unfair, when you cant shoot without giving away your position, its cool!

It's my belief that there are no "noob" tactics there are some easy tactics compared to some harder ones, some just are easier than others. I prefer not to snipe though, snipers don't scare me, If they shoot at me and miss I know where they are if they don't I'll find them eventualy.

Snipers are normally the scouts of a moving front. Moving before the front and finding locations of enemies. Then...once the front arrives the snipers (from strategic defensive positions) aid the advancing troops in keeping the enemy pinned down.

I think you are confusing snipers as scouts. They have pretty bad short range weaponry so there's no reason for a sniper to run at the front and just getting shot at. Sniper is mainly a defensive weapon, but can be used in assault aswell mainly taking out defensive positions such as turrets so that the assault units can capture the flag. And in so many games sniping counts as laming, CS, Savage etc. I think so far it sounds its done pretty well in Battlefront, though there still will be people who yell "lucker" when you get a headshot. It's good that in Battlefront there's actually a counter to snipers so it isn't that bad especially when it takes 2 shots, but we shall see. I most certainly will practice sniping and well I expect lots of swearing from my enemy

Its funner to kill a sniper, IMO. When they think they are hiding then you take out your trusty stabbing weapon. Sneak up behind them and let em have it. I think that only two snipers should be allowed at one time. But if what they say is true and that is that the artillery will be AI and not from a vechile like BF42 then the sniper will be very effective.

I don't think there should be a limit to the number of snipers in the game. If you have to much of them they probably won't win. Snipers aren meant to take over checkpoints :)

I think you're getting confused too. When people say "snipers as scouts" it means more like recon, not scout. As in the sniper goes infront of the front, and uses his scope to check out the enemy positions, not running right into them.

The only bad thing about being a sniper in this game is the fact that the enemy can pinpoint your position with the radar and easily take you out. Kind of defeats the point of being a sniper unless the opposing team can't see you on radar. I think the radar in the game should be like battlefield vietnam where you do have a working radar but you can only see your teammates and unmanned vehicles as well as vehicles currently being used by your team. Makes for much more interesting and strategic combat. Hopefully there's an option for this.

totally agree, but your not entirely right.

If you don't move, you're unvisible on radar, so snipers won't be seen.

On the other hand, if you see a enemy disapearing on radar and not coming back, you know what's happening...

I just hope that the 'look like a stormtrooper' trick of the rebel scout ALSO affects the radar. Otherwise it's useless.
