0MERCURY0
Weve already covered Battlefront in some detail on Central Station but every time we see it, itjust keeps getting better. We had a crack at the rainy kamino level.(taken from attack of the clones) for the first time and it was spectacular.Only eight real players were online (On LAN actually)but the game was filled out with computer contolled combatants and soon an epik battle insued in the expansive level. Blaster bolts filled the air as Republic jet troopers took to the air, Droidekas rolled to a halt and unleashed a barage of fire from behind thier shields and super battle droids stompped around like they owned the joint. Heart pounding stuff indeed - and this was a level that didnt have vehicles! One level that did have vehicles aplenty was the Naboo battle fiield , based on the the Gungan versus Droid clash from the phanton menace. Youll find yourself running across the rolling green hills dodging blaster explosions from a seperatist AAT(Hover Tank ) and ducking out of the way of speeding STAP (the upright Droid hover bikes) while trying to train your blaster on a skinny batlle droid on the distant horizon. Of course you can take the fight to them by jumping on the Gungans two-legged mounts, the kaadu or stealing one of thier vehicles. But either way this epik battle is as enjoyable as Amidala in a crop top. We cant get over what an amazing job pandemic has done bringing Battlefront to the PS2. This is going to be THE online shooter when it hits the shops at the end of september. Just thaught id share this with those of you that have no other means of reading it. there are a few little gems in there if you can spare the time to read the whole thing. Mountainforest
This is real nice. We now no that gungans form a third faction.
0MERCURY0
it is the whole thing and yup I typed it word for word. ima have to look up gungan vehicles noe to see what we could possibly ride on.
Alegis
Gungans don't have landvehicles. They live mostly underwater (otoh gungah), they got bongos and all..for land transport they use those animals.
Mountainforest
I hope they have those shield generators. That would be rally nice!
ExplodingMonkey
STAPs. Cool. First I have heard of them so far!
Clone_Fighter
Hope we can drive STAPs. That would be awesome!
ExplodingMonkey
Yeah! Too bad there aren't a fuller range of starfighters though. I think a couple of space battle levels would be cool! Kind of like BF'42's Coral Sea map. Maybe an expansion will take care of that.
Clone_Fighter
Remember, this game is made for the ground battles, but yeah, a space map would be kinda cool. But I still like it as it is
joesdomain
Awesome the STAPS are included! Still hoping for the Fambaa's with shield generators on their backs and the Trade Federation Transports that carry the battle droids on grounds. I always forget the name. I still hoping for the Naboo Starfighter also on Naboo.
Tyler_Durden
PSM magazine gave the PS2 version an 8/10. They listed Socom 2 and some Tom Clancy game as being better. Frankly, i thought socom 2 sucked, this game just looks and feels so much more ambitious and huge that i don't know what the reviewer was thinking. He think the game could have used escort missions and deathmatch, and whatnot. Those modes don't belong in these kinds of games.

ExplodingMonkey
Yeah, SOCOM and Rainbow Six are tactical shooters, not arcade action battles like the Battlefield series and this game. They should have given this game to a BF lover to review and handed this guy Republic Commando when it released. I'm more interested in PC Gaming's review on it than anyone else's. They loved the BF series, so will compair this game to that one.
joesdomain
I am stilling hoping to see Kaminoians walking around Tipoca City while we are playing on the Kamino map.
reltes
i'm thrilled the battle of naboo is included but it brings up a question i was thinking about before. the separatists (although in ep 1 it was just the trade federation) are one faction but who are the good guys? clones weren't around then. are you a naboo officer? a gungan? or is it just a similiar battle later on during the clone wars? joesdomain
They probably changed it to allow you play separtist vs. Republic. Just a opinion!

The battle vids in Theed show clone troopers, so it is probably the same on the plains of Naboo. From my understanding, Gungans are NPCs like Ewoks. Can't wait to murder the buggers!
