BongoBob
I just downloaded a uxtheme.dll patcher, and downloaded a theme, installed it the way it said, but it changed the taskbar and stuff to windows classic and only changed the background, instead of changing the start bar and stuff. Does anyone else use these? I've noticed some coolness in your desktops, and saw either these or Windowblinds, and just wanted to know if anyone knew of a good faq for this. manoman81
Yeah I use Style XP, but you have to buy it in order to be able to use it. I use a program called Litestep. It's a complete replacement shell for Windows. There are a lot of themes and tutorials on how to make your own. http://www.litestep.net You will have to register to download stuff. It uses less resources than the Windows shell on the basic theme. And, best of all, it's free. Takes a little while to get used to but I really like it. Other than that I use Logon Loader and Logon UI Boot Randomizer to change my logon and boot screens.
Mex
I use windowblinds. I think it's better than StyleXp.
Samuel Dravis
I've used LiteStep before. It was really neat, just be aware it's kind of confusing at first. The customizability is awesome though.
El Sitherino
litestep is horrible. Use Aston shell if you want to completely change the shell. I use windowsblinds and aston shell.
BongoBob
I would like to use any of those programs, the only problem is that this is the only way I knew of that I could use dfault windows themes and skins. I can't with windowblinds. I'll look into litestep.
BongoBob
ERG! that litestep site is screwed up badly. I joined, confirmed, logged in, and then hit forums, enter name and password to continue. I do, it takes me to the first news page, and thats all you can go. Screw that. I hate that. I'll look into ashtonshell
manoman81
Really? Huh. The site never gave me any problems.. If you want, I can send you the installer. You can find themes elsewhere. I'll look into Ashton as well. I'm always up for new proggies that replaces the shell. Edit:Meh. I don't like Ashton. At least LS is free.
