I'll lend you my Delorian. And jtsword, both those games had voice acting in them.

Joshi Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Well any versions of the game you're likely to buy now would be voice acted, unless you bought the old floppy versions off of eBay for nostalgic reasons (or because you'd like to say that you own the floppy version)
Fealiks Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 I wish they could re=do MI1&2 with voices. That'd be awsome! The original'd proberbly be alot better still though..
smokes o' pot Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 That would be one big installation if they did remake them. The amount of dialogue in the first 2 games is massive compared to the others. I wouldn't like them to remake them, I like the voices as they are in my head, not the ones in EMI and CMI.
jtsword Posted December 8, 2004 Author Posted December 8, 2004 i need some help, if any of you own a copy of day of the tenticle, can you help me?! Every time i try and load it up it always says 'warning: EMS only detects 2 megabytes' And then stops! What do i have to do to get it to work?
jtsword Posted December 11, 2004 Author Posted December 11, 2004 Ive downloaded scummvm, wat do i do now, i cant seem to add a game. ive got the version of it with both sam and max and DOTT on the same cd. how do i run it through scummvm?
Joshi Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 are you sure you put in the right location, it should be your cd drive (typically D:) followed by whatever folder the games in on the CD. That should work. otherwise, just download scummVM q+e and put it in the same folder as SCUMMVM, and then just run that.

supersezzie Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 They pulled off 3D really well, but in my opinion they are trying to make the game bitter and better and more hi-tech when the whole beauty of adventure games is their simplicity. And there's nothing like the feeling of moving the mouse a bit slower and discovering an icon ud missed!! Plus everything looks cuter in 2D. And in my opinion u waste too much time just making the character walk in 3D. Listen to the voice of the masses Lucas!!!!! PS I couldn't figure out how to add my vote to the poll-DOH! PPS WHEN is MI5 coming?? Can't wait!
supersezzie Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 oops bigger*. It's just me that's bitter lolol!!
megacles Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 I want them to go back to 2d, with painted, realistic/slightly surreal graphics.
Mafiozi Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Hmm, i prefer 2d pointnclick style, never liked much 3D adventures...Of course Grim Fandango is great, Broken Sword 3 is good ,EMI not bad, but 2d better.
fett storm Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I have to disagree with nearly everyone and vote 3d. Here's my reasons: -Less realistic, not that monkey island is supposed to be but I personally like a game when it feels like you are the character, and this is more achievable in 3d -Broken Sword 3- I loved this game more than the previous 2 broken swords and it pulled off 3d perfectly -Reviews of the game would be low as the graphics score would pull then down -Many people would be put off buying the game if it was 2d, hence low sales -I don't think the 3dness was what spoiled MI4 as much as people think, it was just the lack of decent puzzles & jokes and a dull plot imo
megacles Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 It depends how they handle the 2d. If the in game graphics were of the same quality as these... ... then I think the game could create quite a stir. Just imagine playing that. It would be beautiful. Then if we get Gilbert and co. back to work out some great gameplay, we'd have a winner!
Alien426 Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 As long as the puzzles are OK and the engine doesn't get in their way, I'd love a Monkey Island game with graphics like Beyond Good & Evil. By the way, if you haven't played BG&E yet you're seriously missing out.

Playing for the 4th time now, despite that fact that I've not once completed the damn thing (I get to the end fight, but i can never work out how to hit that eye when it starts hovering above you and I just end up being hit or clicking the dogde button hundreds of times. But yeah, that would be good, the cutscenes were something special considering it used the same engine.
