JofaGuht Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Still no one has made a single attempt to answer my question. I really want that file back, dude.

Alien426 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Jofa: A trial version of one of OnTrack's programs might help you. But I think they removed the "recover one file with the trial version" function in their programs. There are other (free) data recovery programs, but I can't recommend one, so you've got to try for yourself. Be careful not to mess your system up with one of those, though. They can be dangerous!

Kjølen Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Originally posted by RayJones linux is great, but not on my notebook. Your laptop has troubles installing Linux, too? Originally posted by DrMcCoy ...i'm extremly nearsighted... so i won't see anything at 1940x1440 (that's a strange resolution, anyway... never heard of it and the aspect ratio is quite strange...) Actually, 1280x1024 has a ratio of 5:4 and the rest 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1600x1200, all have 4:3, so 1280x1024 is a bit distorted. 1152x864 is the correct resolution. and 1940x1440 is a 4:3 ratio, I THINK. It was just a guess, but that's what I've seen.
DrMcCoy Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 ...no, 1940x1440 is 1.3472:1 (97:72), which is quite strange...
Kjølen Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Like I said, it was just a guess. I forget what the res was... *Checks Newegg* Ok, I was close. it was 1920 x 1440. There is also 1792 x 1344, which you can both find on 19" monitors if you are lucky, and they are awesome. However, I did find a 2048x1536 on a 19" a while ago.
DrMcCoy Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 *shrug* i couldn't work with such resolution... as i already said, i'm nearsighted...
Joshi Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 So wear glasses like the rest of us. Or contacts if you're superficial.
DrMcCoy Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 ...i wear glasses... but even with glasses i never reach the visual capacity of a "normal" person... besides, the glasses scale down everything...
