Yes thats the origonal Quake, just found out you can run it on XP so I have started playing it again. Anyway I was wondering if there were any good single player mods/total conversions (like Zerstroier) or even MP (but I doubt anyone plays quake online now) because I can't find any others.

tenebrae is really awesome, lemme go dig up a link.

http://tenebrae.sourceforge.net/

go there and get it, make sure you have glquake, and a good computer/vid card ;)

Description:Tenebrae is a modification of the quake source that adds stencil shadows and per pixel lights to quake. Stencil shadows allow for realistic shadow effects on every object in the game world. Per pixel lighting allows you to have fine surface details correctly lit. These are essentially the same algorithms as used by the new Doom game.

do a google search for "quake tc" and you should find a lot of single player total converstions.

- I know there was an aliens one, but i think it got shut down... and it wasn't as good as the Aliens DOOM TC anyway.

- There were two official expansion packs (dissolution of eternity and shadows of armagon i think) that added a few new weapons, some new enemies like scorpions and dragons and a loas of cool levels.

I assume you have GL quake or whatever.

I'm pretty sure there was an X-men TC that was supposed to be not bad.

There may even have been a jedi TC.

Try this page:

- Shrak was popular. (commercial TC)

- There were a number of cool mini-game style mods (Quake Rally, quake football).

One TC i bought was Malice, which was very cool for the time. It had minisubs, hoverboards, parachutes, cool robot and rapelling commando enemies and some cool weapons. Well worth checking out.

I also remember playing one multiplayer mod called "future vs fantasy" or something that had about 20 character classes (one team was fantasy based (barbarians, ninjas (coolest class), wizards) and the other was sci-fi based (robots etc..). That was pretty fun too.

It must have been the most modded game ever, so there should still be a lot around.
