Leper Messiah Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 i havnt seen A New Hope in a while so i forget who it was that says to Luke before the attack on the Death Star that if he's got half as much skill (as a pilot) as his father he'll be alright but as far as im aware in the prequels we havnt seen Anakin show a particularly remarkable ability as a pilot, we had the pod race in episode one (does that count?) and his flight of the navigator-esque ride in the Naboo fighter at the end of that film. so are we to expect to see Anakin displaying an aptitude for flying in episode 3 or do u think this point might escape the film?
IG-64 Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 He shows his skill in the Clone Wars cartoons, and i'm sure he will in Eps 3.
Leper Messiah Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 Originally posted by GothiX *cough*podracing*cough* as i said in the above post, i dont think that can be considered in the same way as piloting ability, since one is driving and the other is flying...

Doomie Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Look, at the age of nine or soemthing, he was able to handle a fast starfighter better than trained pilots... 'nuff said.

Troopr-Undr-Fir Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Well, if you've seen any of the pictures from shooting Ep 3, anakin has a special modified Jedi Starfighter: This one from the Cartoon series: and this one In Ep 3, I think since it is in a fly by with the pilot resembling anakin: So yes, I do believe we see him in some hot space action... more than once maybe
Nalukai Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 His skill is clearley shown in the Clone Wars series when he more or less single handed takes out about 1000 federation fighters and a space station... he is also being chased and fired upon by several hundred ships dodging all of them and uses the force to order his squad to pre fire missles at the edge of the hull of a ship where he comes through in the nick of time and the missles destrpy the rest of the remaining fighters..... from what I understand from SuperShadow you will see anakin in action along side of obiwan in ep3... something about .... obi wan has barnacle droids attached to his ship eating away at it and anakin does a fly fly and knocks them all off with one of his wings...
jon_hill987 Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 What about the speeder chase in EP II? he was flying ok then.
Leper Messiah Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 Originally posted by jon_hill987 What about the speeder chase in EP II? he was flying ok then. he's supposed to be a legendary combat pilot before he is vader and so far we havnt seen him do any legendary combat flying is my point
Doomie Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Alright, he crashed. But he did handle the craft better than the expert pilots, before that. Plus, he's the only human that has ever podraced. Why? Because you gotta have VERY quick rexlefes and a lot of other skills. Skills that are very useful to combat pilots. Plus he's a jedi. That stands for greatness. When someone asked me, how do you spell 'greatness', I'd reply D-O-O-M-I-E, er, I mean, J-E-D-I... EDIT: and by the way, Supershadow shouldn't be considered a valuable source unless his info is also confirmed on other sites.
Nalukai Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 hes nailed it on the money bout every time so far... and yes it is considered by me since i read the trailer script 3 weeks there before it came out... pretty accurate. SS is suppposedly close IRL friends with lucas. well see on may 19th if i am correct.
