DK_Viceroy Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Perhaps you could have some sort of Uber trooper in it. ARC Trooper Dark, Phase Trooper, Droideka + Super Battle Droid and Rebel Commando. Those could encourage ppl to use Infantry more instead of Mech Whoring. The Republic could have "Suprise Attack" where before hand they had loaded units into gunships and activated it and then the gunships would swoop in ala movie's strafing and destroying some infantry offloading quite an assault force. The Confederacy could perhaps have a scaled down version of their Aries Class Tactical Missile.

Highly destructive but quite restricted.

FroZticles Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 The Balrog was taking heavy damage from those archers. If I was Gondor I would have had Gandalf on him as soon as he came into the base. I'd be more worried about the undead army seeing as nothing can stop it.

I'm thinking those should be elite Troopers the best each side has naturally expensive but very deadly wihtout a build limit but they would need support and would propably have several different abilities. The onlt possible exception would be the ARC Trooper since the Republic also has Jedi. Think of those troopers as something that could counter a Jedi without being as Useless as the BH and not specifically meant to counter Jedi.

I'm scared too). Personally I'm not a fan of the Dark Trooper because since the release of the prequels it doesn't make a whole lot of sense that the Empire would use droid warriors... though I'll admit it doesn't outright contradict the fact, just makes it somewhat unlikely.

I don't mind its inclusion. The Phase 3 can fit a human inside. It would be like a stormtrooper with extra firepower and armor. Some kind of Elite Stormtrooper.
DK_Viceroy Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 The problem is though whether they'd want to obey EU Purism -Truism and put the Dark Trooper III in I beleive the prototype was destroyed by Kyle Katarn a Rebel Commando. The Phase 2 however was pretty effective and was ready for production.

The Dark Troopers were kinda like Elite Storm Troopers that's Why I suggested that they would make a good idea since having some elite troopers would make the game interesting and help make infantry more used.
