Any more suggestions guys? Thanks. Oh yeah. Another weird thing it does on XP is it won't keep the lap records. Meaning that every time a record is made it will be the current record until the game is turned off. When it's started up again, there are no records. Astrotoy7
here's a suggestion. Dont play the shyte ! all ep1 games are teh suXXorrzz I didnt mind Racer Revenge on PS2 though [/nostalgic] If I ever find out you've been playing 'Super Bombad Racing' though, I WILL hunt you down and crush you with 7 deadly martial arts techniques mtfbwya
Darth Groovy
Pay no attention to Astrotoy7, Podracer is NOT a bad game. It's difficult to get the control of the pod down, but once you do, it's a rush. I have it for PC, it runs fine on both my laptop AND my desktop system, and Use XP PRO on both. Maybe the problem is with XP. Are you using the XP Home edition? Also note, my disk is a copy, dunno if that has anything to do with it! Oooooooh, shouldn't have said that..... *runs from the pirate police*
Lady Jedi
Oh Astro. If only you were paying attention then you would know that I am not the one really playing it. I'm trying to remedy the prob for my little bros. Though I do still enjoy the hell out of it when I do play. Ahhhh. And Grooves, I guess it could be a prob with XP. Yes it is the home edition. My dad's got a laptop with the Office vers. so maybe I should check it on there (though his compy kind of sucks) And I have the original copy as well as a burned one, so that when it's working my little bros can each play on a system. I think I'll try uninstalling and then reinstall and see what trouble I can 'cuase that way. But ya never know, it just might work. Thanks guys. Lady Jedi
Actually I think one of my older brothers was bidding on Racer Revenge on ebay. I don't know if he won, but it definately sounds awesome. About my other game, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but then it wouldn't run at all. Astrotoy7
this site http://www.ntcompatible.com is THE site for compatibility probs for PC games. It has nothing special to offer on Racer, except that it just doesnt run well with newer vid drivers and certain sound cards....... so its a hardware problem in the end...... just wait til you get racer revenge on ps2... mtfbwya
Gabrobot
Not sure if it's fast enough to run Pod Racer, but Microsofts Virtual PC might work. It lets you make a virtual PC...keep in mind you need an operating system to install on the virtual PC though. Try the free time limited demo to see if it works. Redwing
Podracer = awesome. I do remember having these sort of screwy problems with it, though. My advice is, if all else fails, delete everything and play through all the tourneys. I recall that's what worked for me. Oh, and Astro, you're being too harsh. The Phantom Menace is good if you ignore the existence of the Gungan jumping puzzle level. And Battle for Naboo has its redeeming qualities (Okay, mostly limited to the cool craft designs, but still!)
Writer
I used to own Podracer... don't know what ended up happening to it... I'm sorry I can't be of much help to you. I never had problems with it... then again, I played it when we had Windows 98, not XP... I think so anyways:confused: I'm gonna leave before I confuse myself to the extremes! When I reinstalled it wouldn't run at all. I would click on Play the screen would go black, flash back to my desktop, go black again with the blue loading bar, then go back to the desktop, and do nothing. So, I've got no idea what the problem is. I'm gonna keep messing with it though and see what I can do. LJ
