so you base your entire conclusion on the mediocre steeler performance against the jets??? luck or not, i still say brien would've made at least one of those kicks if he had been closer. so far, the longest field goal @ heinz field is only 47 yds due to the constantly shifting wind patterns near the goal posts. if coach edwards had chosen to throw the ball down the field (especially near the end), brien would have made the field goal. instead, edwards chose to run curtis martin up the middle against the number one run defense in the league. go figure. :dozey:

i base my conclusion on the fact that the steelers soundly beat the pats on halloween. you can say that it will be different this time with corey dillion starting instead of kevin faulk, but i believe he will be a non-factor against the number one run-defense. corey dillion will do what every runner this season has done against the steeler's run defense: force the offense to throw the ball to beat the steelers because he won't be able to establish the run as an effective method of moving the chains. sorry, but pittsburgh has faced better offensive line units than new england, and they will put the pressure on tom brady when the pats get put in passing situations. that doesn't sound like much of a game-plan change to me than last time.

the thing about the steeler's offense this season that i've enjoyed is a powerful running game behind both duce staley and jerome bettis. sorry, but i think that the same thing will happen this time against the pats that happened on halloween: pittsburgh will establish the run to set up the pass and control the clock. and don't forget that the steelers are facing an even more patch-work defensive secondary from new england this time around.

for me, the odds are definately in pittsburgh's favor, not new england. :)

MWAAAAAA I Told u the pats would win and they did just like thier going to win the superbowl.

Held the best offence to 3 points. Scored 41 against the best defence. 31-33 Thier is no better team in this day of football. Bill Belichick also tied the record for best record in the playoffs 9-1 a .900 record and if they win the superbowl it will be 10-1

Adam Vinatieri also set the record for the longest feild goal kick 48 Yd

Need we say more

But the stealer are going to be a very tough team to beat next year even if they lose Bettis

Eagles were coming for u

well, i never said that the pats were going to lose, i just said that i can see philly's offense beating the pats defense. Belichek is a genius, but you still have to have personell, and the pats just don't have much personell on defense.

i don't think i've posted this yet, but i predicted back in week 10 (or so) to my friends that whoever won the AFC will win it all. my prediction hasn't changed: since the pats won the AFC, they'll beat philly.

that doesn't mean that i can't root for philly, though. :D

Then why didn't Peyton Manning (set a record for most TD in a season this year 49 TD)score at all against them and throw one interseption. They didnt have all the starting secondry out their.

Then Ben. Rdfjsdfjdsberger lol throw two TD (and the last one was a gimme so pats could get the ball and run down the clock) and 3 interseptions

So they may not have all the starters but from the looks of it they still have a good secondry.

GO PATS!

ok, at least one person on the pats secondary that will be playing in the pro bowl. i was referring to the fact that the pats don't have a good secondary. with TO in the mix, belichek has to come up with a really good defensive scheme to stop mcnabb, westbrook, and TO. thats why i said that i can see philly's offense beating the pats.:dozey:

and yes, go ahead and sight peyton's lousy performance all you want. i still say that there were a lot more factors involved in that game than just peyton manning throwing the football. just because a quarterback has a bad day doesn't mean that the secondary was operating like a well-oiled machine. it means exactly what it sounds like: the quarterback had a bad day. peyton manning is not God: he can't be perfect all the time.

case in point: ben roethlisberger shredded your vaunted pats secondary back on oct. 31, but had a pretty poor performance just a week ago. every quarterback has bad days.

So ur blaming that the steallers and Colts lost because they had a bad day??? The reason why the pats lost thier first game against the Stealllers was a "Bad Day" I mean Cory Dillion was out D. Branch was out and Bradys been playing hurt. He had a bad throwing shoulder a year.

TO probley not even going to play if he does he wont go deep at all.

Question why would u piss off the hardest hitting Defense back the week before the Superbowl if ur a wide reciever?????? Freddie Mitchle is not that smart of a guy if he pissed of Harrison before the big game

GO PATS!

(i think its pritty cool someone else like football alot on these fourms)to bad ur routing for the wrong team

okay, maybe i wasn't being very clear:

if i was betting on this game, i would bet on the pats. its not because i like them, its just that they stand a better chance of winning than the eagles. pats win in almost every matchup except three:

1. philly's passing game vs the pats secondary- i've already explained this earlier.

2. the pats offensive line vs. philly's pass rush- this one is more of a draw than a philly victory. philly's two DE's are among the best in league, but the pats OL is quite good.

3. the pats passing game vs. philly's secondary- this one should be a no brainer. three good recievers and a great quarterback against three pro-bowl backfielders. philly has one of the best defensive secondaries in the nfl, and i just can't see new england doing too much through the air.

otherwise, the rest of the game swings in new england's favor. BUT i'm still hoping that philly will pull it out. i guess i'm in the same situation as last year: i'm rootin for the underdog. :D

in summary: i'm predicting a new england victory through logic, but my heart wants me to pull for philly. ;)

Here is why the PATs will win

Here is why the Eagles will win but they wont

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/3363116

If u read both it why tell why that team will win. And if u read them both its pretty much clear that the Pats will still have the adavantage. In the Eagles will win one they talk as if Brady is a rookie and they think little thing like one big hit will win the game it wont. Remember how faulk was just like Westbrook a run and catching back but was better and the Pats shut him down know what do u think now that the linebackers are even better are going to do to westbrook.

Eagles have been facing easy to beat teams so far the Vikings a 9-9 team who only have Moss and Cullpeper Then they had to face the Falcons that only had Vick a one dementional team.

The pats had to face the 13-4 Colts the best offense this season. Then they had to face the stealers a 16-2team, a great team that had the best Defence and a good offence .

So the Pats are on the Top of their game well the Eagles havnt faced a team of the Patriots Calibor.
