PaddyRamsey
Hey all, I was hoping someone may be able to answer my question about installing a mod I have downloaded. I have read the documentation on this forum about how to install mods, but it hasn't helped. Basically all I need to know is how to install a .mod file. The readme that came with the mod was obviously designed for people who have done this many times before, but since I'm very new to this I have no idea how to go about doing it Thanks for reading
FiEND_138
For the vast majority of the mods, you simply need to extract the files to your override folder. However, some mods go to the modules folder (files with a .mod extension)
PaddyRamsey
Yes, I have put the .mod file in the modules folder, but nothing is happening.

PaddyRamsey
It is one which allows you to play as Revan from the beginning I believe.

Darth_ToMeR
Originally posted by PaddyRamsey Yes, I have put the .mod file in the modules folder, but nothing is happening. Enter the game, open the cheat console and type 'warp nameofthefile', so if the file you downloaded is 'newarea.mod' you need to type 'warp newarea'. PaddyRamsey
Still doesn't seem to be working. I have put the file KOTOR BUILDER!.mod into the modules directory, loading up the game and typing 'warp KOTOR BUILDER!' into the console, but nothing is changing. Darth333
You have a sticky thread at the top of the page that is called: Guide for the newbie: What tools do I need to mod KotOR ? How to install mods? . Now, are you talking about the Revan reincarnate mod? If this is the mod you are trying to install, I believe you have downloaded the source code instead of the mod. Lil'jawa made a .mod file to allow you to manipulate files with the nwn toolset but it was only coming with the source code. That was before the release of Kotor Tool. Otherwise, there is no .mod file in this mod. But again this is pure speculation, since we don't have the name of the mod: give use the name of the mod and the author. Normally this is the kind of thread I lock but I will leave it opened a little longer just in case.
ChAiNz.2da
I don't believe the "Builder" is the mod you're looking for. If you're wanting the mod that allows you to play as "Darth Revan Reincarnate", you need to download this file: ** edit - removed direct download link ** all the files in that mod goes into your Override folder :: ahh once again Darth333 beats me to the punch ::: hehehe oops! the file resides on: http://w1.842.telia.com/~u84203091/sith.htm (click the "NEW Updated version!" link) I broke my own rule about posting direct downloads...DOH! PaddyRamsey
Thanks Chainz, I will try that now. I believe this is the mod I am looking for. Darth333 - as I said, I did read the instructions first, and did try what it told me, but it didn't work. So obviously the next step was to ask on the board. Since i'm hoping to gain some knowledge in this area, perhaps you might be able to answe another questions... regarding the Holowan Plug In, exactly how do I use it? (ie how do I install various mods?). Thanks again.
