legameboy
Who here has bought or is interested in this game? I just got it today, it's really fun stuff. It's like a mesh of Total War and Command and Conquer with a dash of originality and bucketloads of Lord of the Rings (duh). I've had a ton of fun with it. I was seducted into getting it just because of the epic battles of the Lord of the Rings. It was also my "dream" to play out those somehow. Hehe. So, what do you all think? El Sitherino
it's arlight, nothing great. I still prefer starcraft+expansions and Age of Empires over it. But yeah, it's an alright game. But I think if it weren't for the LOTR tag on it, it wouldn't be much of a seller.
Mike Windu
*pats his Starcraft* Someone made a Helms Deep Map for SC. Best. Damn. Map. Evar. I would get that, but I'd rather get Rome: Total War first. Maybe BFME will magically appear under my Christmas Tree, along with a brand new computer? El Sitherino
Originally posted by Prime Why is it average? It just ... really sucked how they made the battles seem so easy even when playing on the most difficult level. Frankly I feel I'd get more excitement masturbating to a LoTR art book. *shrugs*
Doomie
Yeah, it seems to be made in such a way that people who don't play RTS's a lot can still enjoy it. You can only build things in set places, and the amounts of different units and upgrades is fairly limited compared to, say, Warcraft 3 or something. but the combat is great, I think. You must always be careful wich unit type to use. A bunch of Uruk-Hai will get trampled by Rohirrim, but Uruks with spears will slaughter them... Also, there are many heroes to recruit, that gain abilities when they level up, and they can really make a difference. Needless to say, battles stay interesting and the tide can turn in seconds. I haven't discovered a lot of bad things about it yet, but i've only got it for, like two days, so... Anyway, if you're a LotR fan, you won't be sorry. If you're a regular RTS player, it might be fun, though a little different from the rest. Oh, i think it looks great by the way.

legameboy
I felt terrible when I bought this and forgot the fact that I still haven't bought Rome: Total War yet. Bring on the Christmas money!

swphreak
I've been playing it nonstop for 2 days. I enjoyed Generals and Zero Hour, so I knew I'd like BFME. The Nazgul rock and Gandalf is a god
