Mandalorian54 Posted January 29, 2005 Author Share Posted January 29, 2005 Intro One week ago an alein fleet of war ships jumped out of hyperspace near the Mandalorian planet Thaldoria. The alein war ships immediately and without warring launched a vicious attack on the Mandalorians wiping out Thaldoria's planetary defences. The Mandalorian fleet assembled as fast as it could and traveled to Thaldoria to aid in it's defence. A great battle began in space and on Thaldoria which has not let up. A small group of Mandalorians escaped the first Vuanna attack by crashing on Thaldoria in an escape shuttle and survived the second attack on Thaldoria's military bases. Now they are holed up in a bunker below one of Thaldoria's bases, waiting to be rescued. The Vuanna have set up a beach head with several Thaldorian bases that they took over. Now they are pooring troops for a complete invasion of Thaldoria. In an attempt to stop this the Mandalian fleet is sending all the men at their disposal to Thaldoria to re-capture the bases and halt the Vuanna advance. Mandalorian54 Posted January 29, 2005 Author Share Posted January 29, 2005 The Story Begins Many years ago the Juannar helped the Mandalorians travel quickly between systems with warp gates. The Mandalorian fleet came through one such warp gate near Thaldoria. As the fleet emerged it saw before it a massive alien invasion force laying waste to Thaldoria and it's weak defences. Quickly the Mandalorians began a Counter-Strike. On board one of the battle ships Lyria Loriash assembled her squad as they prepared for combat against an alien race with no intel. The order had been given for everyone to gear up and form up in the parade hall. Quickly Lyria put on her Mandalorian armor and helped her squad mates with theirs. Valis noticed Lyria and her squad, Valis always thought she was nothing special, a good solider but nothing special, of course he thought she was hot, most of the guys did, Valis turned his attention back to his squad. "alright, as soon as we dock wiht them, we split up, i know you can all handle yourselves, so meet regroup as soon as you can after you leave this ship, and i will give you further orders." Mandalorian54 Posted January 30, 2005 Author Share Posted January 30, 2005 When everyone was fully eaquipped in their armor Lyria assembled her men and made sure they were all there before leading them to the parade square. When everyone was formed up they stood motionless staring forward while they waited for everyone else to assemble. Finally when everyone was ready an Enforcer stepped out in front of everyone and spoke, "Fellow Mandalorians, today war is upon us. For five thousand years we have been a peaceful race, but now an alien race calling themselves the Vuana have invaded our space and attacked us without reason or mercy. Justice we will uphold in our hearts as we drive these criminals from our systems. Fight for the Glory of Mandalore and bring swift justice to those lawless victimizers!" The Enforcer softened his speach pattern. "The fleet is going to engage the enemy while the infantry descends to Thaldoria where help is much needed. This section will be assulting a Thaldorian Fort that the Vuana have captured. There may be people holed up in the underground Bunkers, rescuing them is a high priority. We have to take these forts back and halt the Vuana advance before they root themselves too deep in our land. For the Glory of Mandalore!" After that the Protectors discussed each companies individual roles in the battles with their Enforcer. Meanwhile the regular soldiers were allowed to relax a little. Lyria checked up on a few of her soldiers, she knew some of them wern't as good at doing up their armor so she fixed a couple buckles on a soldier or two and just made shure eveyone was ready. One of her soldiers seemed really nervous, this was their first combat experience and though not too many of them showed it, they were almost all nervous. Nobody wanted to die, but for freedom's sake they could not let an alien race just invade them. They had to stand up and fight. Just then as she was thinking, someone caught her eye. Valis Endac was a very clever guy, and funny, Lyria envied his natural talent and abuilities too. Being on the special forces was something she'd wanted herself but wasn't really good enough, yet. She started thinking about that without realizing she was still staring at him, until she noticed he was looking back at her. "new plan, if we are boarded we stick with the first plan if we descend without problem, stick together, i know you can all handle yourselves, but we are stronger as a group, got it?" "yes sir" they chorused once again. Valis was kind of nervous, but he had alwasy been laid back, his comfort zone was way out there, he didn't care what people thought of him, as long as they did their job. Valis dcided to go and talk to Lyria, they hadn't had a proper conversation in a while. Valis caught up to Lyria. "your squad ready and preapred?" Valis said in a serious voice. All he did was paced slowly back and forth along the side of the line the soldiers made. He had a blaster rifle clutched in his right hand.. She looked at the ground in between them, oh how she felt like just huddling up in a corner right now. "I wish I could huddle up in a corner..." She mumbled aloud without realizing it. When she did her eyes widened and she cupped a hand over her mouth, "Did I say that out loud?" If we live thru all this, that means we are strong. And we will survive." He saw some of the other soldiers nodding their heads in agreement. Then she laphed and looked up, "We'll probably all end up with post-tramatic stress disorders." After a sigh she continued a little more positively, "I guess we should look at the posative side. Apologetic Posted January 31, 2005 Share Posted January 31, 2005 Craze and his group had barely survived. The Introsphere was destroyed and only a few highranking officals and 2 squads crashed from a small carrier ship. They had sent out a distress call, but there aren't very many ships in range this far out. After everyone was out he got a squad to stay with the captain and other officals. He had three men stay a few yards infront and tow a few more yards back. An ancient strategic move, He ordered his squads ahead. There was smoke and a large building in the distance. He walked away before Raul could mumble a thank you. He was one of the few who didn't seem nervous, or wasn't having any trouble with his armor. He saluted. "Ma'am. Permission to stick with you." It was all part of the charade. He knew that if he didn't ask he would probably be ordered to do other things, things that required him to be away from her and thus unable to protect her. She wanted to smile in some kind of friendly acknowledgement that she appreciated his words, but she only felt this burden on her and instead kept a slight frown. Lyria turned around when Lambert aproached, "Stick with me?" She was a little suspicious of such an unusal comment, "Don't worry we're not in combat yet trooper, for now you really need to just stay in the ranks. We'll wory about that later." There was some commotion among the commanders and everyone was called to attention, the squad leaders returned to their positions at the head of their squads and listened to the orders. An Enforcer up ahead began to speak, "We are close to Thaldoria's orbit now, the fleet is moving in to position. Drop ships will begin to load you soldiers very shortly and your descent to the suraface will commence. Battle ships have already prepared to attack the Vuanna fleet, the war is begining. For Mandalore and for Glory!" He shouted with a raised fist, a shout that was returned by the ranks of soldiers. "For Mandalore and for Glory!!!" Valis's group was going down in individual pods, more stealthy and less noticable. Valis and his trooper went into a small room set aside from the rest of the drop ship bays, it had 8 pods, just enough for his squad. "alright into your pods and buckle in, we will arrive ahead of everyone else, hence these things are fast. stay focused and head to the nearst cover possible then try and regroup, we should be relativly close if nothing goes wong, for the glory of mandalore!" Everyone headed for their drop ships, rows of soldiers lined up by each ship spread out across a massive hangar. Hundreds of ships for thousands of soldiers. This was just one of many hangars on the Battle ship, and one Battle ship of a fleet. This was a full scale inter planetary war. Just from the first assult millions of soldiers were eaquipped and trained for combat. Millions more would begin training back on Mandalore. No doubt there were hundreds of Millions of Vuanna though, it would take some serious fighting to rid the Mandalore systems of these hostile intruders. "Endac, is your squad ready?" "ready as they'll ever be." "good launch in ten seconds." Valis switched to the squad comm "10 seconds till drop." "6.....5.....4......3.....2...1 Fall!" Valis felt the locks disengage and a feeling ofweightlessness. Valis opened the tiny view port and saw the he was rapidly dropping form the ship, he alsosaw some other pods above him, unfortunatly he could not see down. Valis felt a huge jolt then then it all stopped, Valis unbuckled himself and opened the pod door only to see the pods that were above him hit the ground and knock him over, Valis got up and turned to one of his troops that came out. He unbuckled his seatbeat and pushed the pod's door open. Zeth looked around and saw other pods around him. He approached Valis, who was talking amoungst another trooper.
