Don't have KT in front of me (and it's been a long time since I've used it), but I imagine it goes something like "File>Open"...

EDIT: ^^^^ you can find KSE by looking in the stickies.

No it's not a bug. Mendah uses t3-m4's tag ( we can't use custom tags for recruit mods or we end up with serious problems: various clones of the new recruit, game crashes). When you speak twith some npcs in the game, there are dialogue branches to be spoken by t3-m4 when he is in your party. The .dlg file looks for t3-m4' s tag and if the object with t3-m4's tag is found, then the dialogue is fired. This is what happens with Mendah. In order to remove this, Achilles would have to verify and modify every single dialogue in the game where t3-m4 "says" something, which is simply not worth it.

Hmmm...I'm usually pretty good about providing this kinda information in the Readme file. Did I skip a step on this mod? Seems that you're unable to find my recruits even though others are. Please let me know if I need to update my materials. Thanks!

Well, I have to disagree with that. ;) I simply hated having Mekel roar and growl like Zaalbar in my mod, so I took the time to edit each of Zaalbar's lines / dialogs to avoid this. And if I may say so, in my opinion it was worth it, because you get a new party member and not just a hairless Wookie. ;) That doesn't mean I don't like other recruitment mods without such changes. :)

So you searched through and modified almost every single dialogue file in the game to just remove Zaalbar's lines??? :eyeraise:

Seems like far too much effort for too little reward to me... ;)

Depending on the original mods creators intentions... I agree, but I could easily see how it could end up as more trouble than its worth.

I mean the constant PM's from mod users trying to make your Recruit Mod compatable with so many other mods because you altered so many of the games dialogs (The only way to fire scripts in some of the games areas, I might add), this to me has the potential to be a problem for the modder.

Maybe now that we have search tools, looking for those entries does not take that much time but when I did my recruitment mods, the only tool available to edit .dlg files was the GFF editor and you couldn't even see the dialogues, only a reference to the .tlk file :nut: I guess I still have that in mind :D

...I think we should get back on topic now... :p

Play it and you'll see if it was worth it or not. ;) If I did the mod just looking for the effort and reward, I would've never done the banter and Mekel's dialog. Ask tk102, he knows how much work the last one was. :nut: And although I received almost no feedback so far :(, I still think it was worth it.

I was almost done locating the dialog files as the search function for KT came. It seems I have a bad timing with these things; the new dialog editors from Kotor Tool and tk came out when I was almost done with Mekel's dialog.

Of course, sometimes it was quite annoying during the first tests. I actually recognized how much text Zaalbar really had (I only had him in my group where you need him to). Then I had the glorious idea to change the script for his side comments, and the dialogs which had to be edited were reduced to 12.

... Ummm, yes. Back to topic.

Sorry :animelol: ...

I repeat: Please, please, please do not PM me and then post the same question here.

If you send me a message, I will respond. By posting it here, you are wasting the time of the person who replies. Similarly, if someone replies here before I see your message, you are wasting my time when I reply to your PM.

This is the second time that I have asked. If you do it again, I will place you on ignore.

Thanks in advance,

Achilles

EDIT: btw, you won't find him until after you are getting ready to leave the planet. He will only appear if you are playing LS. I'm pretty sure I put all this in the readme, but I may have skipped a step.
