Hmmm....then it looks like a bug in the game, not in the mod. I'll check the dialogues and the globals for the swoop races and release a patch for the dialogues.

I tested the swoop races with a male PC...

That's really odd guys and gals. I've never had a problem with the mod (in any version), and I've even lost legite races beforehand, installed the mod & went back and won??

Query: I had noticed this problem (before Darth333's mod) that when I chose to do a 'trial' run I'd get the "You must complete the race..blahblah" message. Perhaps due to my lack of swoop skill, but just a thought. Are you making absolutely sure you're choosing the option to run a race rather than 'trial' run?

and just for Darth333's FYI, I have succeded with the mod both by persuading to not pay the entry fee, and by paying it (just in case)....this is really odd that it's not working for other's ???

One other query, if this is by chance the only mod you've installed (it was for me), when you made your "Override" folder... did you make sure to CAPitalize the "O" in override? I wouldn't think it would make a difference in game code, but since I'm not a coder, I'll just let options fly. However, I do know HTML, and when making a hyperlink...capitalization does count...

This game is quirky enough as it is :fist:, so any and all "try this" options applies ;)

QA really needs to be spanked with this release, or fired...

BTW, if you are talking about the track on Telos, it seems that swoop racing there is bugged: if you lost the race once (per example before installing the mod ;) ), then you will always be told to finish the race. If this is the case, Load a savegame before you lost and try again with the mods installed.

I'm glad I saw this. I tried several times last night to beat the Telos swoop track, but no matter what time I posted, I was told that I didn't place :(

Glad to know it's a legitimate bug and that I'm not crazy.

Hold that thought Achilles ;)

Really? ummm... that's really weird because mine did work. I specifically tested for it

Maybe it's just my game that's buggy, because the only time I ever got that message (other than obviously losing to my sucky swoop skills) was when I was running trial runs.. ???

This whole game needs a MEGA-patch. godz this thing is going to be around 100mb with all the quirks that need fixing. It might as well be an add-on shelf release

Yes, ir's not the mod: it's the original dialogue with the swoop track guy that is completely messed up. I am looking at it.

In the meantime you can win all your races if you install the mod, cut down all the small talk with him and just ask him to race (no practice run) :) (this works if you haven't talked to him before).

  • 1 year later...

I haven't actually looked at it for quite some time, but wasn't the accelerate (shift) function hard-mapped to the LMB?

Seemed like it was... but in any case, try starting a race and using the left mouse button to start (as well as to shift up when needed).
